why are we negotiating with an Axis of Evil state that keeps their people in a state of perpetual starvation?

Because responsible adults seek peace through diplomacy and negotiation, not stubbornly ignoring or trying to hurt your “enemy” (which almost always backfires or fails to achieve its intended objective).

No, that's why we should have negotiated with them long ago.

The actual reasons we are negotiating with them now are: A) Obama didn't, and B) Trump is vain and easily manipulated.

Apparently, a peace contract signing between North and South Korea is planned until the end of the year.

Big news, if true.

Next up, a meeting with POTUS Trump. Hopefully he doesn't f**k this up (after all, the US and China as perpetrators are needed as well in signing the peace contract between North and South, to officially end the 1950s Korea War).

Trump's bellicosity and reckless bluster persuaded South Koreans that it's better for them to stop being totally dependent on the US on matters of national security, and engage directly with the North.
Glad to see this change paying off, even though Un can't be trusted, yet.

If Moon can pull this off, he's all but guaranteed to win the next S. Korean election already. This will be one of the most significant events of the 21st century if these talks succeed.

If Un really agrees to peace compromise with the South I hope Moon to win the Nobel Peace Prize just for getting to negotiate with a hostile state.

Yet our phony president will take the credit for the negotiation and proclaimed himself as the great diplomat. Trump has no shame in taking pride for other's accomplishments.

I don't think Trump really gets much credit for this. Moon should be the one with the nobel prize.

He shouldn't, but he likely will. If this all goes well I envision at least a 5 point bump in approvals and Republican retention of congress.

American voters rarely reward their leaders for foreign policy successes, and only punish them for bad failures.

That being said, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. When it comes to the North, don’t trust and keep verifying

Americans wont remember this since it doesn't directly effect them. If Trump played a major role in this, history will remember and it'll be a positive effect on his legacy. But you'd have to be daft to think Americans really care about successful diplomacy. Trump wont see any bump, or if he does it'll be shortlived.

You know, I don't even care if he tries to. (I just hope he doesn't try to wreck this to make himself the center of attention.) I am very glad to see events moving toward peace in Korea. Helping bring this about (along with taking us out of the TPP) are the best things Trump and his administration have done.

Yes, because that is totally and completely sane. Trump doesn't deserve the dirt off of Obama's shoes.

Did your sources in PA-18 turn out to be bogus? Because your prediction was totally wrong. Go sit down.
