Connecticut because it is not controlled by delusional Republican hacks.

Utah. It has breathtaking natural scenery, a world-class metro area in the Salt Lake region, and it's one of the best states for paleontology in the country. Not a hard choice in my opinion.

Utah for its aforementioned scenery, but they're all bad.

I guess Utah, since I'm resigned to the fact that I'll be living there soon. however there are some curvy chicas in Texas so I'd rather live there.

Texas, because of the weather and large number of metro areas.

I ended up choosing Utah, for its natural beauty and out-performing its neighbors in most metrics.

Connecticut, but not because it’s the most liberal.  It has the best climate.

Utah would be my second choice, because of the scenery and good quality of life.

Utah: Heavily Mormon culture outside of SLC; very socially conservative and family oriented; dry, four seasons climate with frequent fires, air pollution (in the valley), heat waves, and snowstorms; spectacular mountains, national parks, deserts, and the Great Salt Lake; one of the nation's highest QOL and job markets; and SLC-Provo is becoming an important tech corridor.

Indiana: Socially conservative, post-industrial, and agricultural state; excellent suburbs around Indianapolis (Hamilton County) and nice smaller cities (Lafayette, Bloomington); great job market; typically around the middle of states for QOL rankings; mostly flat geography with a four seasons climate that frequently experiences tornadoes and snowstorms.

Texas: Republican-dominated, socially conservative, heavily religious state; numerous major metros with top rated suburbs for families and cities for millennials; excellent job market, particularly for business careers; typically in the middle-to-lower end of QOL rankings for states; geography that ranges from beaches and forests in the east to hills in the south-central, plains in the north and west, desert in the west; warm-to-hot climate that experiences frequent heatwaves, severe thunderstorms/tornadoes, and hurricanes along the coast.

Connecticut: Democratically-controlled, liberal, secular state with one of the highest percentages of college grads; outstanding suburbs contrast with underdeveloped cities; high pay, COL, and taxes, along with a robust social safety net; close to NYC and Boston; one of the nation's highest QOL ratings and levels of wealth inequality; a rather poor job market with major state budgetary issues.

Overall, I think it really depends on what you want out of where you live. Personally, I'd choose Texas, even though I hate the weather. I'd just choose Austin.
