Yuck. Gray is by far the best GE candidate here. McGrath's donations are all from Arlington and Manhattan and San Francisco.

More or less a McGrath internal, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is true

McGrath is the best candidate for obvious reasons

Gray is old news. Not hard to win KY-06 vs Rand Paul (who is a godawful fit for the state of Kentucky and massively underperformed Trump)

cool. I feel like McGrath would be a better congresscritter and more likely to hold this district later, but I like both candidates for this district.

Amy McGrath is probably one of the best candidates the Democrats have running in any district. Great news!

I live in the district and I'd be fine with McGrath or Gray.

If you don't mind saying, who are you planning to vote for in the primary?

Probably McGrath, but I won't be mad if she loses. I kinda feel lucky with the choices we have in this primary. I feel like McGrath and Gray are both solid. I live within walking distance of city campaign offices for both of them and I've been impressed with both of their campaign's staff and volunteers. The McGrath campaign in particular has been canvassing here almost daily and signs are everywhere.

I'm quite conflicted. McGrath may very well turn out to be a great candidate, but we know for a fact that Gray can play here, considering he won this district two years ago in an arguably more polarizing election and while running against an incumbent.

I feel this, but I do have to say that she has a way with old white people (who vote in droves here) lol old white folks who voted Trump here are interested in her and talking to the field organizer in the McGrath campaign office on my street, he said the campaign feels like they'd crush Gray if Kentucky had open primaries.

I still think Democrats would be scoring an own-goal if they nominated McGrath.

Atlas dems don't think a woman fighter pilot can win in this district.

Even tho the difference in these polls is literally just name ID.

Why does atlas not understand that people don't like to say they are voting for a candidate that they have never heard of? It's really obvious lol. I wouldn't say I am voting for someone I have barely heard of....

And most people aren't following congressional races rn

I want McGrath simply because she's a kickass woman, but I feel like Gray is a safer bet for this seat.

Is McGrath is a progressive Democrat?

She and Gray nearly identical on policies (Reggie Thomas is the most progressive of the three). The deciding votes between McGrath and Gray will come down to life story/reputation and likability next month.

If a miracle happened and Reggie Thomas wins the primary, does he have a chance in the general?

Not at all. I like Reggie a lot, but he would get demolished by Barr. The 6th district has Democratic potential, which the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recognizes, but a Black progressive can't win here (yet), I'm sorry to say. Reggie is a great State Senator and he's genuine and caring, but he is getting steamrolled outside of Lexington. There are still too many rural areas in this district for a Black man with socialist tendencies to win. Jim Gray is gay, but he's more moderate and he's good at wearing plaid and being very "Gee golly" folksy, and McGrath's past as a fighter pilot has really gotten attention here (combined with her political pragmatism). If Reggie were running in Louisville, he'd be great. But the Lexington area here in the 6th just hasn't caught up with him yet.
