In the Syria Civil War, the US government has na anti-Assad position. There are many groups fighting against Assad, and ISIS and Al Qaeda are two of them.
Do you think that the US government is helping them?

when you're in a three (plus) sided fight, you're ALWAYS helping one side or the other.  If everything else is equal (and it never is), it's always best to let the other two sides fight in a 3 way.....but you can't let one of them "win" either.  It's very complicated.

and sometimes you even have to share tea with some of the worst people ever.

I don't think we're directly funding or aiding ISIS, but by trying to take out the strongest opposition that ISIS has - the Syrian Government - we are indirectly aiding them.

Yeah, I really don't understand why liberals (and DJT) are so anti-Assad. This is the Shah all over again. The replacement will always be worse. Always.

You can be anti-Assad without advocating for replacing him. Stop the strawmanning.

They technically aren't, but they are not necessarily backing the right side in Syria either. (No, they shouldn't side with Assad either.)

Then what do you want to happen?

Literally contradicting yourself. Why fail to replace someone you're against?

This is like saying that we shouldn’t have fought in WWII because it strengthened the Soviets.
