The contest....

For the Republicans... it's Harold Stassen for President, and Dan Quayle for Vice-President!

For the Democrats... it's Lyndon LaRouche for President, and Ralph Nader for Vice-President!

Perot bursts a gut laughing and decides not to run.  Dave Barry considers a candidacy, but he decides that satirizing the candidates will be far more fun, and stays out.

I wonder if LaRouche and Nader hate each other or not... Tongue

Stassen/Quayle vs. LaRouche/Nader....

I vote Stassen/Stassen. As should most sane people (a few eco-nuts might vote for LaRouche and then try to assasinate him... but they're not sane people in my book).  Of course, Stassen is getting pretty old - he did run for president in 1948 .

Democrats can't vote!  :(

Harold Stassen would win this handily.  It's like if a mainstream Democrat ran against a Socialist in the general.  A woman-hating Socialist.

BTW, Democrats qualify as 'other', so they can vote I/L/O. Also, that L is Liberal, not Libertarian (which is R/L). Tongue

I'm curious to know who the hell voted LaRouche/LaRouche, what they are smoking, and where I can get some.

Wasn't Stassen is his late 70's or early 80's in 1992?

Both candidates have always been the butt of jokes in each party.

I would hope that Perot would still run. My vote goes to him.

Write-in for Dave Barry-Steve King anyway.

BTW: there's an actual serious TL on SHWI in which Dave Barry is elected president. Of course, it relies on several strange occurences and ridiculous assumption about human nature, American politics, and the Republicans, but still.
