I decided to split this off my 'DanielX and his Crazy Propositions' thread, because frankly the re-name the Midwest thing was a little batty, and I want to free the new bill from its prior connotations:

"State Initiatives Act:

1. Statewide Initiatives, which do not interfere with Regional or Federal law, shall be permissible within the Midwest (or Sagebrush) region.
   -An Initiative shall be hereby defined as a Proposition that effects only one particular state in the Midwest.
2. A Statewide Initiative shall require 1/3rd of that state's population to sign before it goes onto ballot;
3. A vote of 'aye' by the majority of registered voters in that state, certified by the Regional Governor, shall be sufficient to have the Initiative pass into state Law.
4. An initiative passed by one state shall have absolutely no effect outside that particular state's borders."

No, because then you'll be like "WOO I'M GONNA SLEEP WITH MAH 'HOS!" in Wyoming and I don't like that Tongue

Besides, BRTD would find some way to take advantage of this bill (just like he takes advantage of women Cheesy) and make Minnesota the most immoral state in the union Tongue

I like the spirit behind this, though Smiley

1. Minnesota will have to compete with Wyoming and Nevada for that already... Tongue
2. This isn't just about prostitution, ya know. There's also gambling, zoning laws, state roads, marriage laws (polygamy! Cheesy), blue laws (in Iowa?), and the establishment of official Cool States Cheesy

I'm actually looking more at me getting buckets of money, not me sleeping around (I could, after all, just move to rural Nevada... Tongue). I'm looking to purchase a big block of land not too far from Cheyenne Regional Airport (soon to be Cheyenne International Airport) and turn it into the next Las Vegas Strip. A long street filled with hotels (both mine and competitor's) and casinos, with a series of side streets leading to shopping, housing for employees... and of course, a red-light district. And some of the hotels will offer 'room service' Cheesy

So, anyone signing my proposition?

I'll sign it, but I'm going to have to vote against it.  The reason being is that a lot of these states have 0 or 1 person in them, meaning that the whole passage of the bill in a certain state would rely on one persons vote, and it would complicate things too much.  Plus, people would probably find it too hard to find out what the laws were for one state, meaning it make are population growth even less than it is now!

Come on, one more signature... please?

Oh, and if the proposition is passed, then every voter in the Midwest (even the Nays) will get a free night at any Smith Enterprises hotel in the United States (all currently standing or the proposed hotels in Cheyenne; This only would count as 50% off at Xanadu, my planned pleasure dome in the Rockies).
