Mitt Romney picks New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as his running mate in 2012.

Discuss with maps.

Not much of a difference.  Maybe Romney picks up FL, and OH.

This, the running mate very rarely changes much (unless either the race was incredibly close, like 1960, or the running mate was bad, like 2008)

Christie would probably show himself to be the elitist bully he is on the campaign trail and does only harm to Romney.

Of all the horrible things I've wanted to call Chris Christie, I don't think elitist has ever come to mind.

I believe that hanging out in a beach with your family when there's a government shutdown and only you can be there because you're governor qualifies as elitism. Also talking down constituents.
