Woodrow Wilson's decomposing corpse probably would have beaten Hoover in 1932. I think Garner does nearly as well as FDR did, but he probably loses a few more Northeastern states and wins around 55 percent of the popular vote, as opposed to Roosevelt's 57.4 percent.

Garner does a few points better in the South (which changes nothing because this was at the height of the Solid South) and a little worse in the Northeast (Losing Massachusetts and Rhode Island maybe).
