His career should have ended with what he did in Chappaquiddick.  I think because he was a Kennedy, he thought he was probably entitled and could get a pass, but for others I think it would have destroyed them. 

His United States Senate museum up here in Boston is a great place to go, though.

I feel Chappaquiddick marks him morally irredemable (not necessarily the incident, but his callous reaction to it). Not sure whether I would have voted for him against Carter regardless.

Both of these. Ted Kennedy was by far one of the most effective Senators and one of the greatest champions for the causes at the heart of the Democratic Party. But was equally a man of great moral failing/cowardice

Probably the most qualified of the brothers to be POTUS but also only one to have 0 shot at getting in... better that he was stuck in the senate seat and was able to get policy passed
