The shooting at the Pulse nightclub was barely one year removed when a gunman opened fire on a sea of people in Las Vegas. The most deadly shooting in America was soon dethroned less than a year later, and in disgustingly sick circumstances that mirrored Orlando. An evil man, spurred by hatred and some type of bigotry, opening fire on scores of celebrating people. The United States was beginning to look like a state consumed by chaos and blood-spilling. People would soon be afraid to go out. Going to high school school, work, country music celebrations, and Latino night at the club now became something that was less than safe.

Jacky Rosen looked at CNN and exhaled deeply. She felt sick. She was already going over the lines of her press release, even though she didn't like how that made her feel. Her own city, now home to America's deadliest gun massacre. Maybe Sandoval will pass at least a bump stock ban, Rosen said to herself, he is a moderate after all. Who the hell am I kidding? She scoffed to herself. A Republican is a Republican at the end of the day.

Now she had to grapple with her political response. It is Nevada after all, not New Jersey or Massachusetts, and she is an aspiring Senator for a sky blue state. But, maybe she should just go all out for that NRA F-. It may not be Jersey, but it's not West Virginia on guns either. Plus, it's not like Nevada is going to vote for Trump in 2020. Cortez-Masto has a C, maybe Rosen can go lower. Who knows what that pig Kihuen has. However, going too far might endanger her campaign, and give the deadbeat Heller a grasping chance. Rosen rubbed her temple. Bump stocks have to go, at least, maybe even an assault weapons ban. It passed in the 90s, but can't pass now. Strange times for a country so polarized, so hateful.

Even though, as a politician, Rosen was supposed to project a sense of stability and normalcy in the face of increasingly turbulent times, something told her that things were only going to get worse. This isn't what a normal country looks like. People being massacred every year isn't normal. Politicians ignoring it is even worse.

DOW PLUNGES OVER 1,000 POINTS IN ONE TRADING DAY, BIGGEST DROP IN HISTORY

In financial news, the DOW Jones Industrial Average saw its worst day ever, plunging more than 1,000 points by the end of the day and scaring investors and observers alike. The drop has come three days after President Trump tweeted praise towards U.S. financial health, proclaiming it "the healthiest, most robust system in the world!" and sarcastically adding "Why won't whiny Democrats talk about THAT?"

The drop came after a few months of middling performance in the stock market, with economic experts predicting more sluggishness to come. Last month's job report detailed a slow job growth and little new prospects for American job seekers. What this means for Washington is yet to be seen, but with recent polls showing growing disapproval for the Republican Party, it can't be good news for Trump.

Democrats See Massive Wins

Dems retake NJ governorship, VA statehouse

In a stunning win for Democrats, Phil Murphy and Ralph Northam win their respective gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia. Plus, Democrats have narrowly retaken the VA House of Delegates, which they lost control of in 2000. This comes as a serious and concentrated rebuttal to the Presidency of Donald Trump, with his disapproval hovering around 57%.

In Virginia, Ralph Northam defeated his opponent by a margin of nearly 9%, besting his Democratic predecessors Terry McAuliffe, Tim Kaine, Mark Warner, and Douglas Wilder. The Democrats also won 52 seats in the House of Delegates, ousting their GOP counterparts in a shocking turnout of Democratic voters in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Norfolk, and among rural Black voters.

In New Jersey, Democratic success could be seen as more of a rebuttal of Chris Christie and his one-time ally Kim Guadagno, the latter of whom Phil Murphy beat by 14%.

Right-Wing Internet Hate Group makes threats to U.S. Representatives

A right-wing hate group known as the Nordic Allies, found mostly on Reddit and 4chan and other smaller sites, have made a series of violent threats against several Democratic U.S. congresspeople, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Ben Cardin, Karen Archer, and Ro Khanna. Specifically, the group named the said representatives as the "enemys [sic] of the white race and collaborators with the Jews and Globalists to take down America and give it to the corrupt elites of society." On their now-shuddered website, the group have called for the "vigilante justice-doers to take matters into their own hands and render verdicts on those in the way of white heritage."

On January 12, the FBI announced it was officially looking into Nordic Allies, as well as their presence in online communities and any online support they have. Twitter user and self-described white nationalist Richard Spencer has advocated for the group, calling them "brave" and "good of heart". Spencer is a known advocate of genocide.

President Donald Trump has not released any statements concerning the group, but Attorney Jeff Sessions stated that the "justice system is doing its duty in investigating threats of violence and murder." Senator Chuck Shumer has slammed the group as a "violent and anti-Semitic hate group which must be exposed."

DOW PLUNGES 1,650, BIGGEST POINT DROP IN HISTORY

The DOW Jones Industrial Average has again dropped, seeing its biggest average day closing down at 1,650 points. It also know a massive intraday drop, seeing a drop of 2,200 points in the middle of the afternoon.

Experts say this is due to investors dumping out of stocks, and it lead to disastrous consequences.

The previous biggest drop in history was just three months ago when the DOW dropped 1,100 points in a single day.

Sherrod Brown looked at the January job numbers, as well as a series of other brief documents. Job growth pitiful, economic growth nowhere near the Trumpian promised land, and unemployment nearly 6%. That and the stock market was as volatile as ever before. This is going to be a rocky and vibrant election cycle. But as horrible as the news was, Sherrod was glad he was a Democrat. Ohio may be going to the way of Kentucky if certain demographers were right, but he was still a popular liberal in a swingy, working class state.

He was optimistic on Heidi, Claire, and the two Joe's chances as well. Claire might be a goner but if she keeps it close then hopefully the Republicans will spend too much in Missouri and not enough in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Sherrod couldn't comprehend how Tammy or Bob Junior could be in danger, but he thought that about Hillary nearly two years ago, so it's best he doesn't get too comfortable.

John Thune was on the news, blabbering on about Trump, and the Agenda, and the Stock Market, and the danger of Hard-Left Dems, and of course, the Dreamers. Sherrod scoffed, and remembered when Tom Daschle, Tim Johnson, and Stephanie Herseth Sandlin all represented South Dakota at the same time, in the 21st century, no less, when South Dakota was the deepest ruby in America. Same for North Dakota. Sherrod always wondered how Democratic presidential hopefuls never have  had a chance in Oklahoma or the Dakotas, yet as recently as 2005 did they have a near total Democratic sweep of Oklahoma's congressional districts. Now, it was only poor Heidi who remained.

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen looked at the TV screen and was shocked, but something about Sandy Hook and Orlando made her less shocked and disgusted than she should have been, and that made her hate herself. Seventeen dead in her own home state. High-schoolers enjoying Valentine's Day now dead. Ileana studied the recesses of her mind, and tried to grapple with how to proceed next in the wake of the newest round of America's favorite pastime. Assault Weapons Ban? Of Course. Bump Stock Ban? Of Course. Raising purchasing age from 18 to 21? Of course. Not like the last one would have an impact as most of these shooters are older white men. Ileana felt like a Democrat with the way she was thinking.

She then got to thinking about what it would truly be like. The news never showed the bodies, except for vague pan shots or blurry pictures. People will change their tune once they see what a riddled body looks like. How bullets from an assault rifle render a human unrecognizable. How they kill in an instant but destroy the body long after death. She certainly wasn't ready for it, especially if the news did that with Sandy Hook, or Orlando. Ileana turned off the TV and sat down in her Washington office room. The lights were dim and the air was stuffy. She wanted to open a window but it was simply too cold.

Marco Rubio, Dana Loesch Torched At FL Town Hall as Parkland Survivors Advocate Gun Safety

Senator Marco Rubio was confronted at the Feb. 21 CNN Town Hall by Parkland shooting survivor Cameron Kasky, who asked the Florida Senator if he would refuse donations sent by the NRA. Rubio refused to answer clearly and faced a chorus of boos and hisses. The senator was joined by his Democratic counterpart Bill Nelson, who called for an assault weapons ban and renewed gun safety legislation. Also asking questions were parents of slain victims, such as the father of one victim who questioned Rubio as well, again causing the senator to illicit boos with his responses.

Fellow survivor Emma Gonzalez received to opportunity to question NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch about access to firearms, and viewers pointed out that Loesch's answers (that shooter Cruz should not have had access to automatic weaponry) contradicted her employer's official stances on the issue. Advocates for gun safety pointed this out on twitter.

The governor of Florida, Rick Scott, was not able to attend the event.

Why did no one stop Nikolas Cruz?

After recent revelations emerged painting the picture of the Florida shooter Nikolas Cruz as a racist, xenophobic, anti-Semite, questions are abound asking why no one stopped him. Instagram posts were found, displaying Cruz's obsession with firearms, as well as threats of violence towards Jews, immigrants, and Black people. Threats were made to also put black people back into slavery and "cut their necks".

A month before the shooting spree, the FBI received a tipster who notified them of several worrisome and violent social media posts. The tipster reportedly voiced concern of a school shooting. Why did the FBI not do something then and there? Why did the FBI not intervene to stop a man clearly motivated by racism and bigotry, who was willing to kill for it?

Furthermore, why did the police officer stationed at the school not go inside? The officer was armed, and bound to the duty to protect the students and intervene in violent events. Yet, he stayed outside and remained there as first responders arrived. Was it fear? Many answers will never be known, nor are many people particularly keen to answer them so soon after the massacre. Meanwhile, Parkland survivors and their parents are continuing to amp up their social media presence and continue to advocate for gun safety laws.

Hope Hicks' Diary of Massive Interest to Mueller

Recent reports have indicated that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is very interested in the diary belonging to Hope Hicks and believes he can gather important information from the pages provided.

Hicks had resigned on February 28, a day after admitting that she told white lies for Donald Trump to investigators. Her resignation comes as yet another major departure of Trump administration officials, joining Anthony Scaramucci and Gary Cohn.

Mueller has expanded his investigative scope in recent days, including the interview of Trump aide Sam Nunberg, the latter of whom went on a bizarre media blitz and candidly spoke of the possibility of Trump's guilt in the Russian scandal.

"He did what now?" Corey Gardner asked his aide. "Fired? Who the hell does this idiot think he is?" He painfully asked. "Tillerson gone. My god."

"And Goldstein, too." His aide said.

"Who the hell is Goldstein?" The Colorado Republican responded.

"Steve Goldstein, Tillerson's aide."

"What the hell? Why?"

"Well, the aide said that Tillerson was only made aware of his firing via the tweet Trump said out, and the White House fired him too because they felt he contradicted them. Trump said he alerted Rex well before today."

"Obviously we trust Tillerson in this scenario. My god."

"It's... crazy, to say the least."

"Jesus. This is - " Cory started. "This is just too crazy for words, friend. So Tillerson really only found out via the tweet as it was sent in real time?"

"Yup, just like Comey found out about his firing in L.A. through the TV."

"There's something really sick and twisted about someone if they get off on publicly humiliating people like that without warning. Something's wrong with our President."

"What are you going to say?"

"Something about thanking Rex and some other bullsh*t. I don't know. It's not like I'm going to risk angering the President and his creepy kids." Cory started. "Do we know who's replacing Tillerson?"

"Pompeo, I think?"

"I'll say something cutesy and welcoming about him too."

"It's because he said that gas attack in Britain was the Russians." Kamala Harris said to one of her chief aides, Daniel Lopez.

"I know. It's crazy how much of a nutjob he is." Daniel replied.

"This isn't just like you firing a canvasser, or something. This was a total ousting, and firing Goldstein was even worse. What the hell is wrong with the President?" Kamala replied. The two were in an elevator on the way up to her office.

"It's hard to think like that. It means we're inching closer to dictatorship." Daniel said.

"Oh, please, we're not there just yet." Kamala scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Well, not yet. Who's replacing Pompeo if he goes to State?" The elevator door opened and the two made their way to the office.

"Haspel."

"Gina Haspel? Cheney's torture queen?" Kamala asked, stupendous. "What is wrong with this administration, it's like they want to make people nauseous." They reached her office and sat down.

"It's dark red meat to his base. They love this sh*t. It's authoritarian. It's strongmanish. Who cares about laws against torture when torture is how real American men get answers from the brown terrorists?" Daniel said.

"His base will sop up anything that comes out of his mouth, because they're racists and wannabe dictators. Let's be real here. Hillary was right when she said she won the more forward thinking places." Kamala said. "And now she's getting torn to shreds. Speaking of, what are people on twitter saying about me?"

"Your defense of ICE isn't going over so well on twitter, especially among activists and the far-left."

"First of all, it wasn't a defense, and second of all, these twitter socialists need to understand that not everyone wants to floor the gas pedal and destroy capitalism." She said and paused. "But what are some of the activists saying?"

"Well, Gabe Ortiz and Carlos Maza are upset with you and have asked you to review your position on ICE if you want to truly be an ally for immigrants and Dreamers."

"Okay..." She paused again. "I just don't want to take the risk of calling for the abolition of ICE. It seems foolish and it's not like ICE is fully horrible."

"Well, people are turning against it hard. They're comparing them to the Gestapo. Rounding up families, separating them, deporting people who have lived here for decades. It may be wise to be the first Senator to call for abolishing it."

"Okay, say I did call for its abolition, how can I frame it in a less than radical way?" Kamala asked.

"Well," Carlos started. "If you do assume that policy, stress how ICE wasn't always around, only established in the 2000s. Abolishing a newer institution isn't nearly as radical as abolishing the Department of Education or the Fed. Plus, some people are calling for ICE heads to be jailed and executed. That's radical."

"Hmm." Kamala said, drumming her fingers on the desk. "I'll think about it. Bernie will probably get there before I do."

"Do you want to hear what some people are saying about you on twitter concerning ICE?"

"No." She said. "Yes, actually, I do." She said again.

"Okay, here's some." Carlos said while he readjusted himself and read out some tweets. "Typical prosecutor, everything is about jailing with her. When will she shut up about it?"

"Read another." Kamala said.

"Typical Democrat. Typical Liberal. Fake smiles and vague promises, pretending to be left to keep minorities down. She's just as bad as Trump." Carlos said. "That's someone who describes themselves as a Marxist and has their location set as Occupied Algonquian Territory."

"Jesus." Kamala laughed. "Occupied Algonquian, I bet they never post anything else about Native Americans either, just that one little virtue signal so all their friends know how great they are. Read another."

"Kamala supporters need to be ashamed." He said. "That's all this guy wrote."

"Hmm..." Kamala said. "Great."

Pence Under Fire For Recently Unearthed Remarks During Indiana Gov Days

Vice President Mike Pence is under fire after years old allegedly homophobic remarks he made have been unearthed by a former Indiana aide. The aide, who requests anonymity, worked under Pence from 2012 to 2016, and the information she has revealed came from 2013.

According to the aide, then Indiana Governor Pence was responding to the outbreak of HIV in Illinois after he defunded Planned Parenthood. The aide reported that another advisor told Pence of the growing media firestorm surrounding the outbreak, where Pence was to have replied:

"It's not my problem. They should go to real doctors and get real answers for their conditions.
Not any of this LGBT crap. If they cared, they'd get off their slings and go to the clinic."

Both Pence and the White House have denied the accusations, but those close to Pence in Indiana have said it is likely Pence would utter such things. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, on the other hand said that the accusations were "bought by desperate Democrats who want to smear the name of our good Vice President."

Conservative blogger Jack Posobiec tweeted "Good on Pence for saying what is right about gays and lesbians. They spread diseases and going to Planned Parenthood only coddles them and tells them their diseases are good things." His tweet was slammed by Planned Parenthood and outgoing president Cecile Richards, who called it "grotesque" and "typically right-wing rhetoric that demonizes our LGBTQ communities."

This is a developing story.

There is, by my rough estimate, a 1,427% chance Pence has said something this bad, or probably worse, at some point in time.

Congresswoman Karen Archer Stabbed in Dearborn

Democratic Congresswoman Karen Archer (Mich. 13) has been reportedly stabbed several times during the evening of May 29. She was attending a dinner with the Wayne County Democratic Party when an assailant assaulted her and stabbed her numerous times.

She has been rushed to the Henry Ford Medical Center where she will be under intensive care.

Archer became congresswoman after she won the November 2017 Special Election to fill the seat being vacated by John Conyers, who resigned in June 2017 following a sexual harassment scandal. She belongs to the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Witnessess describe a scene of intense violence and loud yelling, with the assailant repeatedly calling Archer, who is white, a "n***er lover" and "k*ke lover". Witnesses describe the assailant as a younger white male, seemingly college-aged, with dark brown hair. He was reportedly dressed in all black and wore a green bandana over his mouth. The suspect was apprehended by police very quickly.

The chances of Archer's survival are unknown, but the attack mirrors the brutal slaying of British MP Jo Cox by a right-wing assailant in 2016. Immediately, twitter users and activists have drawn parallels to the assassination.

Rep. Karen Archer

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has condemned the attack and called for people to "hold Karen and her family in their thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery." Her condemnations were echoed by leaders across the aisle, including President Trump, Speaker Paul Ryan, Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, Rep. Maxine Waters, and Rep. Ro Khanna.

On the conservative side, commentator Tomi Lahren had this to say: "I guess Democrats are going to want to ban knives now. Interesting how banning guns wouldn't have stopped this." Lahren's tweet has prompted severe outrage across the political spectrum, with many calling her comments obscene, offensive, and downright soulless.

This is developing story.

Archer Assailant Identified as Dave Massa, Linked to White Supremacist Groups

The assailant who stabbed Congresswoman Karen Archer several times in Dearborn Michigan has been identified at twenty-two year old Dave Massa.

Massa is a senior at the University of Toledo, in Ohio. It is not known when or how he travelled to Michigan, but he was tagged in a fraternity's facebook group photo on May 27.

Massa himself had a public profile, where he frequently shared right-wing memes and articles. He also posted several times in support of Richard Spencer, Jason Kessler and other organizers of last year's Charlottesville riot, and several posts demeaning the late Heather Heyer, a victim of vehicle-ramming during said riot. He has also shared images of Nazi, fascist, and white supremacist flags and logos.

Other posts are filled with racial slurs and racist memes, with Massa frequently referring to his friends as "n***ers" and "f**gots", despite being in a satirical manner. His friends and family could not be reached for comment.
