Racism is definitely political, and yes these political views have no place in our nation's public schools. He can sue if he wants but it's absurd that this guy will keep his job when many others have had their lives destroyed over far less intentional and overt displays of racism.

I actually agree with where Badger's going with this.

The problem is, there seems to be two competing concepts of political correctness. There is the political correctness of your run of the mill, fat blue-haired "pansexual" campus radical who screams "we're going to cut your dick off" at Christina Sommers or something. This is the kind of toxic political correctness that I hate.

Then there are the old bee-hived headed old women at my local Republican Club, who view political correctness as evil because they can't call the young black kid working the valet stand outside the "colored boy" anymore. This is where opposition to political correctness runs in the direction of simply masking generic bigotry.

Anyway, in this situation, the teacher didn't actually bother to mask their racism as "bigotry." Instead, he just came out with an outwardly and undeniably racist statement. A teacher cannot educate a child successfully if he's biased against the student due to his race. It's as simple as that.

Apparently he will not been terminated. The superintendent, interestingly, is a black woman.

He's being reassigned to a desk job until his contract expires at the end of the school year.  Less of a hassle in terms of worrying about paperwork and legal stuff.
