If this goes on long enough, they might be able to make an SNL skit out of it: All the jurors sitting around super frustrated, looking at one stereotypically blue-collar-looking man, pleading with him to vote yes because the evidence is so overwhelming that it hurts to think about, all as the blue collar man looks down at his lap with his arms folded, repeatedly yelling:

NO! THIS IS ALL FAKE NEW AND A WITCH HUNT!!

Sounds more like an  angsty teen telling his buddies he could totally get a date with the hot girl, if he wanted to.

I think they'll probably make an SNL skit out of it anyway. When's the show back?

At what point does it become permissible to sing "Why Are We Waiting?"

Next week.

I'm okay with them taking a few weeks; there were quite a few charges, and with this being such a high profile case, I'm sure there are jurors who feel they need to reflect on the specifications for each charge and be nit-picky about if the evidence fits that charge.

Interesting. Would they retry just that one charge on its own, or would the whole trial be considered a mistrial? Anyone know?

I beliebe just a mistrial on that count. However, depending on how the other counts go, the prosecution may decline to retry if it’s just one count

In England, if the jury fail to reach a verdict on part of the charges, then it's left on file. Usually the defendant will be going away for a long time at that point anyway.

Mind you, in England, the judge can allow a 10-2 verdict.

Right, but I have seen some speculation that it may involve a guilty plea/deal by Cohen.

If Cohen gets off easy with a plea on things as big as 20 million in fraud, I really hope he is giving them a lot. It's really frustrating to see these people skate on minor charges (or less) when they are up to their necks in criminal shenanigans.

We really don't know the full extent of what those who have pleaded have given.
