I thought you hated social Darwinists?  Oh wait, it's because Hawk is a Democrat, isn't it?

Mitty isn't a social darwinist.  He isn't Emsworth or Phillip.

Mitty/Tossup...

I don't think that the map would be radically different...simply because I doubt most states would flip from one side to the other right away. (Had this been preceeded by a me vs. caldwell election) then yeah...

But there are too many states that would simply stay partisan regardless of who was on the ticket (See Utah, Indiana, Massachusetts, Rhode Island).

Since neither Hawk or Mitty are so radically populist or libertarian...it would be hard to get those states to flip.

That said...here is my map

Mitty 274
Hawk 264

I don't think Hawk could win Georgia, or Mitty...MA...I think in a one time "odd election" those states would stand pat (especially given how well the Dems do in MA, and the GOP has done recently in GA).

Mitty's ideology allows him to capture Washington, Oregon, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, Delaware

Hawk gains Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, New Mexico, Ohio and West Virginia.

Close states: Tennessee,  California

Pretty close results so far.  It's a good match-up, since neither of them neatly fits into their own party.

why do people speak of plutocracy as if it is a bad thing?

i, of course, think a plutocracy is the way to go.

people, you need to drop the pretense that you 'care' about your fellow man.  most of you dont.  but of course it isnt politically correct to openly admit that.

im selfish.  i care about myself and my family.  if joe blow down the street is struggling to get by, it doesnt concern me.

we need a free market system with the achievers at the top.

Wow, I never saw that.  That's pretty pathetic, Walter.

Mitty's okay on issues, but I always picture a curmudgeon. Partly because the guy in the Thurber story is old. Dave is great on issues and always a gentleman, so "Democratic Hawk" easily.

Mitty of course.

He should however switch to Democrat and 'Democratic Warmonger' should switch to Religious Party.

Phew, that's a relief. I'll take that as the most highest of compliments you can bestow on me and I'm not going anywhere - you'd better believe it
