I've chosen myself and Water Mitty because we are both very different candidates from very different regions

Democratic 'Hawk' is a Moderate Liberal Populist [economically left-of-centre, socially centre-right)

Walter Mitty is possibly on the basis of his PC score a Moderate Libertarian Conservative [economically right, socially centre-left]

How would this race play out?

I respect both of you guys and wouldn't mind either one of you serving as President.  That being said I'd probably vote for Mitty, but you'd win.

interesting race.

the hawk comes across as a sam nunn type person, who would do ver well nationally.

im in the bill weld mold, who would have problems in the populist leaning areas.

I vote mitty. It would be something of a bizarre realignment.

VERY tough choice, as both are great candidates.  The election would be VERY close.  That being said, I'd vote Hawk.

Hawk would win quite handily in any case, and in this map wins in a landslide by taking even hard core Republican areas due to a right wing third party candidate.

hmm, I guess I just wouldn't vote in this one.  Hawk's a populist, but Mitty wants to take away my guns and have my kids wear uniforms.

i do strongly favor school uniforms.

gun control isnt a big issue with me.  i do favor common sense gun control measures, but i realize that gun control isnt a solution to our crime problems.

I vote Mitty but this is a tossup, and a potential "realigning election."

Tossup/Hawk.  I really don't know Hawk's views too much.  I take it he's a little bit to the left socially of PC.  I also disagree with Mitty on unions and Irish history.  Too close to call.

Tossup/Hawk.  I really don't know Hawk's views too much.  I take it he's a little bit to the left socially of PC.

In a nutshell,

Generally, left-of-centre on economics (pretty Keynesian but I oppose affirmative action as I do all forms of discrimination); socially, I'm centre-right (but, as a whole, more of a centrist than a conservative) - I think its my tough stance on law and order and my opposition to abortion as a matter of choice, which moves me slightly to the authoritarian side of the PC

On defence and national security, I'm a 'hawk' - and probably well to the right of most Forum Democrats - though I'd guess I'm more of a realist than a neocon

I'd reluctantly vote Hawk, and Mitty would win.

Why so reluctantly? We're economically on the same side Wink, though you are somewhat to the left of me
