I know that I live in New Jersey, a Northeastern state with a high number of South Asian residents (Middlesex, Morris, Bergen counties), but how do South Asian American voters vote?

Do they vote Republican? Do they vote Democratic? Do they vote third party? Or do they not participate in American politics in general?

Many of us are Democrats in the US, but ultraconservatives in Indian politics.

Which I find to be hypocritcal; supporting pro-minority parties where we're a minority but bigoted ultranationalist majoritarians where we're a majority.

This makes more sense when you consider which groups of Indians immigrate to the US. Immigration law favors highly skilled immigrants with tertiary education, who in India and in the rest of South Asia disproportionately come from the upper castes. Of course there is also the issue of the center-left Indian National Congress being widely perceived as a rather corrupt establishment party.
