He's only running because he's rich and bored.

No, that would be Thorburn.  Cisneros is easily the best candidate running in that seat and should win the run-off if/when he finishes in the top two.
CA-39's Democratic citadel is in Hacienda Heights. Cisneros will likely beat Thorburn there.

Not at all. Thorburn's politics are very earnest and rooted in his background as both a union organizer and as a brother of a man who died because he couldn't afford medication - There's a reason his campaign is unionized, after all.

I don't dispute that Cisneros is favored, though I can say with certainty that neither would have any real trouble winning the general election in a 52-43 Clinton seat in a climate like this.

I didn’t know his campaign was unionized.  I guess I’d be pretty happy with him or Cisneros, although I’d prefer Cisneros.
