What if Applegate continues to have a huge lead in the polls?

What if Applegate continues to have a huge lead in the polls?

Then he would be the nominee.

Jacobs is polling poorly. Is this some kind of poll trutherism?

She jumped into the race the latest and is already polling a respectable 8% in a large field. She’s also the best funded, having the most COH out of the entire field. She has the most room to grow, especially after Applegate drops out.

My gut tells me Applegate will advance (and narrowly win the general election), However, just to make sure theirs no R vs. R disaster, it would be nice to see Kerr, Prejean, and Jacobs drop out to ensure a Democrat makes the Top-Two.

Why do you consider that Chavez is a sure thing for the general?
He is a very poor fundraiser and his relationship with the state party seems problematic.

He might, but he hasn't decided yet. Would he stay in if the next poll shows him with a major lead?

Would Chavez win an R vs. R race against Harkey? Would it be Levin or Applegate who wins a D vs. D race?

Have a feeling the mess with Applegate could lead to Harkey advancing with Chavez.

Didn’t he stalk his ex-wife or something?

Also a general sense of entitlement.

Chavez has a huge lead in the polls.

It's one poll and campaigning hasn't heated up yet. Harkey also seems to have the resources Chavez lacks.
Not to mention that 7 points isn't a YUUUUUUGE lead.

I really hope Applegate makes the top-two (my gut tells me he will), from what I’ve heard he seems like a really cool guy (he’s a combat veteran that’s not afraid to tell it like it is), and is a perfect example of the type of candidate Democrats Need to embrace if they want to be a serious national party.

Every poll at that link shows Chavez losing...
