It should be noted Ramaphosa won't assume the presidency automatically, since the position is being closer to a Westminster -style PM than US President. Ramaphosa is, however, the Acting President for now.

Hopefully the next leader can pull SA up. The country has the potential to the the powerhouse of Subsaharan Africa if they pull it together

They already are, although that's also the result of having not much competition in that regard.

What's everyone's impression of Ramaphosa? Did he flip flop from being on the left of the ANC to being on the right or has he always basically been a tepid social democrat and Zuma just moved to the party so far to the left that what was considered radical in 2000 is conservative now?
