How much worse can it be? He basically doesn't do any work and just lets a cadre of generals, senior bankers, and alt-right, religious-right, and neoconservative activists and bureaucrats do everything anyway.

I know a lot of people do actually have a sense of morality that is informed by religion, so in that case it could have some positive impact.

No religious person has ever done a good deed that an atheist couldn't also have done. However, a lot of religious people do horrible things that an atheist obviously would not do. Religion is a cancer on society in nearly all cases.

I’m sure making fun of Christians really helps democrats make inroads to a community that overwhelmingly opposes them and is large and diverse.

I agree except for "religion is a cancer." Disagree; it's a useful logical shortcut for being good, but isn't necessary for everyone or theoretically anyone.

It's okay to make fun of groups that vote Republican.

The community of Christians that overwhelmingly opposes Democrats is white evangelicals, non-white Christians are very D-leaning.

Yes, Democrats need to show respect and humility the way Trump does. Better yet, they should learn from great Christians like Jerry Fallwell who are so tact and respectful to others:

As long as frauds like Trump and Pence are the leaders of your party with the full backing of the Evangelical industry then you guys don't get to lecture anyone ever again on any moral issues

If he did in fact say this, isn't it literal blasphemy?

Did Jesus tell Pence to lie to Adam Rippon? Is he embarrassed by Paul's 2000 year old tweets?

Sure we get to "lecture others on moral issues".  I don't see where you were designated Censor-In-Chief.

The fact that Evangelicals supported Donald Trump in large numbers has become the latest excuse for anti-Christian folks to blow off Scripture, and what it commands as far as personal conduct goes.  Nothing has changed; errant men and errant women who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are still tasked to bring the Gospel to a Lost and Dying World, and to train Disciple new Believers that they may do the same.

I am certain that Pence is a Christian.  Trump . . . well . . . let's just say that I'm glad I'm not going before God with his stated theology.  Scripture, however, says that God's Word will never return void.  Folks who heard the Word preached before an absolute charlatan or a preacher with serious moral failings (e. g. Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker) and confessed their belief in Jesus and asked him to Save them and come into their Hearts were saved, regardless of the condition of the preacher.  It is a Living Savior that Saves, not a mortal man.

And while I'm far from perfect, I will, indeed, continue to speak on what the Bible says, all of it, rightly divided.  To the lost, the message is the invitation Jesus has given all for Salvation, and the promise of Eternal Life with God that only Christ can deliver.  To the Believer, the message is to preach the Gospel to every creature and to instruct on how to carry oneself as a Christian.  But we will, indeed, continue to carry to the World God's standard of behavior as delivered in Scripture.  We're supposed to do these things, and I fail to see what the issue of who did and didn't vote for Donald Trump has to do with any of this.

As for Pence, if he's a Christian, I would certainly hope that he hears from God through His Holy Spirit.  I would hope that his prayers are communication with God, and not just an act of talking to himself.

Because when you get fired by the White House everything they say is based on total truth with no malice and no bitterness whatsoever.  You didn't get this memo?

I'm bitter because religion kills people. Tide pod lunches aren't used to justify the worst of humanity.

Would normally completely distrust the source out of hand, and I still take it with a boulder of salt. However, no one can seriously deny this report doesn't fit like a glove with everything Pence has ever said or done in public for over 20 years.
