Jonathan Martin: GOP internals had Colyer tied last weekend. Monday tracker: Kobach +7.

This race always had a Kemp/Cagle dynamic to it. The Trump endorsement is going to wrap up a lot of votes for Kobach; in the end, I suspect it won't be close.

Just going to comment on how hilariously wrong I apparently was. Colyer is no Cagle, that's for sure.

Is Colyer likely to maintain his 15% margin in Johnston, or will it tighten considerably? The only way Kobach wins is if Johnston tightens quite a bit.

Crawford County has (finally) been fixed, here are the statewide numbers:
40.7%   Kris Kobach   105,653   
40.6%   Jeff Colyer*   105,295

Kobach may gain a little bit from counties outside of JoCo, but Colyer should gain a large chunk from JoCo. Still way too early to call, we won't know until JoCo comes in.

We have new voting machines, the computers that are tabulating the results is coming in very slow.

You are correct, if Kobach loses you will hear cries of voter fraud from his supporters. That being said, if he pulls this off, they'll be saying that elections are accurate because of the terrific work of our SoS.

That what I want to see,  KKK claiming the Rs are cheating frauds.  Drive his voters away from the polls in the fall.  Of course JoCo isn't being slow to troll Kobach it's just fun to say.

It looks like everything is in except JoCo and KKK is up by 807.  I'd expect Coyler to win the remaining JoCo by at least 5-6000 but what do I know.

Lots of Republican moderate losses tonight.
According to KU Professor Patrick Miller (although JoCo hasn't officially released results), incumbent moderate Patty Markley and moderate candidate Kristy Acree lost their primaries.
Incumbents Joy Koesten, Don Schroeder, Mary Martha Good, Anita Judd-Jenkins, and Steven Becker lost too. They tended to gravitate moderate.

Moderate GOP candidate Jeff Kennedy (87th) lost to right-wing Renee Erickson, and Democrats could easily have beat her if they HAD A CANDIDATE in this swingy Wichita district. My middle school science teacher got nearly 40% here in 2014 while running a left-wing campaign against then-incumbent Mark Kahrs.

Looks like this is the right-wing revenge for the centrist primary victories of 2016. And with a likely Colyer win now and again in November, it looks like Kansas will somehow end up worse off in 2018...

One good result though-John Whitmer, a right-wing Republican closely associated with FBI indicted Sedgwick County Commissioner Michael O'Donnell, lost his primary to quite liberal Republican scientist JC Moore, who according to a friend of mine, is a big advocate of a carbon dividend.

If I read the JoCo web site correctly, they haven't even reported all the early votes.  Obviously something actually has gone horribly wrong.
