A question: when can Orman decide to drop off, IF such though comes to his mind?
I think it is early September but I can't find the exact date. Specifically, that is when his name can be removed from the ballot. He could obviously drop out the day before the election and encourage his supporters to vote for Kelly/Svaty.

Democrats are circulating a petition removal deal. I think if Kobach wins, this might actually gain some traction, but I doubt Dems can track down *that* many voters to unsign.

Ugh.

Can we bribe Orman with a cabinet position in the next Dem administration in exchange for dropping out?

 no.

can we promise him one and then renege?

Anecdotally I'm hearing that turnout is quite high for a primary. Consistent with this cycle.

I’m so excited for Governor Kelly, the stars have truly aligned for her.

Orman might prevent it from happening.

Laura Kelly is running on education like Kathleen Sebelius, Dems can get elected statewide in KS😁

A slim chance remaining Colyer wins the primary? Trump is not too popular in KS and Colyer is still an incumbent more likely to keep the seat in Nov.

I'm not sure what's better? Take the risk to end up with Kobach but increase Dem chances, or write the state off and give it to Colyer, who is still strong right-wing, but somehow turned into the mainstream candidate because of the alternative.

About the only way I envision Coyler winning the primary at this point is if the Barnett voters abandon him en masse and roll over to Coyler.

Paul Davis ran on a noun, a verb, and "education" and lost despite being an even better fundraiser and more energetic candidate than Laura Kelly. You need a lot more than just education to win in KS statewide.

I'm rooting for Colyer. KKKobach should be nowhere near the governor's chair.

Has Kelly a lock on the nomination? I thought Carl Brewer was the frontrunner and the best candidate for the general?

Carl Brewer is polling second to Laura Kelly, and seems to be headed towards a third-place finish behind Svaty as well.

I've had KS as Toss-Up/Tilt D for a while now, since I was assuming all along that Kobach would win the primary. I really don't see how Coyler pulls this out, at this point.

I had a feeling you were talking about a different state Tongue

Jonathan Martin: GOP internals had Colyer tied last weekend. Monday tracker: Kobach +7.

This race always had a Kemp/Cagle dynamic to it. The Trump endorsement is going to wrap up a lot of votes for Kobach; in the end, I suspect it won't be close.

I'm afraid Kelly's going to win, which is going to be pretty saddening for me.

Kinda late to be asking this, but what are some differences in the platforms of Svaty and Kelly?

Svaty seems to me to be a very charismatic speaker. He really got his first coverage from a Salina high school graduation speech in 2016: “Nobody from Nowhere.”

That wasn't his first coverage lol. He was pretty talked about when he defeated an incumbent Republican by a 30% margin at age 22.

Less than 1000 votes but Kelly is leading Svaty and all that is reporting is west of Topeka.

Manhattan is where most votes are from and I expected college towns to pick Kelly.
