https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/02/09/584678163/kansas-scrambles-to-change-rules-after-6-teens-enter-governors-race

Turns out Kansas has no formal requirements for being governor.  No residency, no age requirements, may not even have to be human--which probably explains the several lizard people that have held the office.

So, this year, six teenagers, one as young as 16 have filed for the governor's race.

Godspeed young 'uns.

I actually, no balls, might

EDIT: I would have to pay a thousand dollars in filing fees, so unless you guys want to chip in this isn’t going to happen.

Is it legal to solicit money for political purposes that way?

Imagine if a horse "filed to run" for office, was nominated, but then died before the election. Then you could beat a dead horse.

Sam Brownback (if he ran in 2018) would be such a bad candidate that he wouldn't even be capable of beating a dead horse.

It would be funny to run an "atlas candidate" whose entire platform was voted on by this forum

All jokes aside, I'm glad the KDP is allowing Jack Bergeson to partake in forums and debates. The GOP has shut out the teens in their race.

I believe so. There’s also some politics specific fundraising website, but IDK it’s name.

Start a GoFundMe.

From the forms I looked at on the SOS website, to be in a party primary or an independent candidate you need to be a resident. But to file as a write-in, you don't have it and its a $20 form fee.
