The average congressional district is home to around 700,000 people. What would it look like if the number of districts were doubled to allow for easier representation of constituents interest? To start off I did Minnesota, which has been doubled from 8 seats to 16 seats
1. Washington/N Ramsey D+3 2. St. Paul D+26 3. S Minneapolis D+26 4. N Minneapolis D+26 5. Anoka R+5 6. W Hennepin EVEN 7. Bloomington/Scott County R+2 8. N Dakota County D+2 9. S Dakota County/Rochester exurbs R+6 10. Rochester and SE R+2 11. SW Minnesota R+10 12. Wright County and other Western exurbs R+16 13. St. Cloud to the WI border R+11 14. Duluth and Iron Range D+6 15. West Central R+15 16. NW Minnesota R+10
4 Democrats, 7 Republicans, 5 Competitive (D/R+<5)
Maine with 4 districts that in a neutral environment would split 2-2, although both Republican districts are swingy, though very Trumpy
1. York County/Portland D+10 2. Northwest/Lewiston/N Cumberland R+2 3. E Cumberland/Augusta/Bucksport D+5 4. Northeast/Bangor/Bar Harbor R+3
2 Democrats, 2 Competitive
New Hampshire is probably the only state in which every district would be competitive
1. Salem/Derry/Portsmouth R+3 2. Manchester/Nashua/Merrimack R+1 3. Rochester/Laconia/Lebanon D+1 4. Keene/Concord/Claremont D+3
