It was never a secret that Bonifer and Rhaella had feelings for each other, he made her his Queen of Love and Beauty and she would have married him, or at least been involved with him more deeply, if he had been from a noble house and Jaeherys hadn't married her to Aerys.

I've always used player POVs to give insights into the character's feelings, thoughts, and fears, not advance the storyline the same way that Lumine's POVs do.
