The New York Times is reporting that Meehan who sits on the House Ethics Committee (and occupies district with an R+1 PVI) has used taxpayer money to settle a harassment claim from a former aide

PA-07 was already looking like a tossup and potential Democratic pickup. Now with a damaging scandal that likely forces the seat open Democrats have another lucky break on their path to 218 seats.

Now with the PA Supreme Court redistricting decision almost surely eliminating PA 7 or otherwise turning it into a solid, not likely, solid D District, there's no reason to try to save his ass.

He's retiring anyway. An open PA-07 with whatever more favorable boundaries it gets in redistricting probably becomes as likely a pickup for Dems as FL-27 and CA-49.
