Missouri Rep. Ann Wagner decides to run for the 2018 U.S. Senate election in Missouri, challenging Sen. Claire McCaskill. Wagner is the overwhelming frontrunner and wins GOP Senate primary.

McCaskill fends off a primary challenge from left-wing state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

Even with Trump dragging down the GOP ticket, Wagner wins handily, though she runs well behind what Trump got in 2016.
