Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill wins reelection in a tough 2018 election against Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley 52%-47%. She runs for president, officially in September 2019 after a lackluster Democratic field without a centrist. McCaskill wins the 2020 Democratic nomination, defeating fellow Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris.

She faces off against President Trump, who fends off a GOP challenge from former Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

I think it would be close. McCaskill is a centrist and is unpopular in her home state, but would attract women voters. I would say she would win Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin back, and come very close in Missouri, Iowa, and Ohio. She would also pick up Arizona and North Carolina by a hair, but lose Florida.

Probably something like this, but she isn't a progressive.
