L 8.10.4 Voting Legitimacy Act

1.)this act will take effect in the next Lincoln election.

2.) no one shall be able to register in the new register thread into the Lincoln region from another region and vote if not having been in the region officially for more than a week. This excludes people who are registering newly in the new register thread. These same rules apply when running in an election.

This bill is not needed, as what the bill is covering has already been covered in the constitution, As per Article V, Section 1:

The right to vote in all elections and referendums called according to the provisions of this Constitution shall be exclusive to those persons being eligible to vote in elections for President of the Republic of Atlasia who have been registered to vote in one of the states of this Region for a period of at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of the election.

This is in addition to the other constitutional issues that have been brought up by Truman in the bill introduction thread.

I also voice the concerns that Truman originally stated.

On a side note, however, I did introduce this bill to discussion because I believe that every bill deserves attention after introduced.

Also, the sponsor has 48 hours as of this post to voice his reasoning to support the bill.

I am aware of the constitutional amendment, however, I think we need less vague terms.

Recapitulating this here, as others have mentioned it:
The Northern Constitution already establishes a period of minimum residency as a qualification for the franchise. This bill would violate that provision by waving the requirement for some new citizens and arguably violates the equal protection clause of Article I, Section 1 of the federal constitution (thus making it doubly unconstitutional per the supremacy clause).
