I wonder how Trump feels about my family. My grandfather was lucky enough to leave Germany for the US between the world wars. He saw the direction Hitler was taking the country and he wanted out. By all accounts, Nazi Germany would best for the descriptor Trump used... But I guess since my grandpa, dad, and I are all blonde with blue eyes, it's okay. Ugh.

My dad says a lot of what's going on here now reminds him of the stories his dad told him about Germany. It makes me want to leave, but my grandpa had lucky timing. He was going and single. I'm married and have family here I have to care for.
Trump has done nothing like Hitler.

For all the blue avatars or anybody else on here trying to defend this comment. The problem with the statement isn't that he called the countries s**tholes. We all agree that these country are lesser developed than the US and have several problems. The problem is that he said he rather have immigrants from Norway. Anybody who thinks that he chose Norway because it just happens to be a more developed country is lying to themselves. He know what he was doing, he meant to be sly, he meant it to be racist, and anybody on here who denies it or try to take it out of context is just as bad as him.

Maybe but could it be that Norway also has a low corruption rating, developed economy, highly skilled workers, and citizens that are bilingual and frequently speak English? Just a thought. Immigration is more than just skin color.

Then why would they immigrate here?  Or anywhere?  Content people tend not to immigrate.

If your family came to the United States from Europe prior to 1900 or so, guess what, you're a descendant of "people from sh*thole countries."

This goes double if they came from someplace like Italy, Ireland, non-Parisian France, Poland, Eastern Europe, or the like.
I understand that on my mom’s side there Jews from Eastern Europe want to know something else my great grand father or my great great grandfather I don’t remember but he started off as a waiter after being in America for 20 years he became supper wealthy and opened up two Orthodox Jewish hotels.

I don’t hear those types stories now days.

Social mobility is far less today than in the recent past. People typically must change employers to get ahead.

No the holocost was not caused by Christians. Besides anyone who is anti Semitic is not Christian.
Andrew Jackson is widely regarded has one of the least religious presidents. Besides genocide of the Indians is mostly thanks to the democrats ,last I checked it was the wigs AKA republicans who pushed to against Indian removal like davey Crockett one of the best congressmen of all time.

'Holocaust was not caused by Christians'.

What the literal **** is wrong with you. As someone who is Jewish, I'm just wondering what is going on even in your mind. You are just straight up ignoring all of history.

Are you familiar with the term blood libel at all? If you are not, it is the term that those of the Jewish faith are all collectively responsible for that of the death of Jesus (although I might be confusing this with another term and blood libel might be in how Christians saw that Jews were using the blood of Christians for their 'rituals'). That was entirely from Christianity and supported by that of the Catholic Church (who are Christian whether you deny it or not). There's also the fact that Protestantism (as created by Martin Luther) is also Christian so you can't say he wasn't a 'real Christian'.

It can be argued as most clear as day that the consistent and constant anti-semitism being perpetuated by that of Christianity against the Jewish people led to the Holocaust. Saying it was not makes yourself a fool, especially considering that the Nazis had explicitly used that of the words and actions of both the Catholic Church and Martin Luther along with the general history of anti-semitism in Europe for that of the Holocaust.

Greedo's probable response: "I am jewish too chuck schumer is my cousin" etc. etc.

Hitler's antisemitism was first and foremost based on the Nazi theories on race, rather than religion. This is reflected in the fact that converting to Christianity did not save a person of Jewish background from being persecuted by the Nazis.

If you take the United States and restrict it solely to counties that voted for Donald Trump, you have an incredibly poor, uneducated, undeveloped sh*thole country.

So who are Trump's supporters to look down their noses at immigrants when many of them don't have college degrees and live in conditions comparable to developing countries?

Unless several centuries worth of popes do not count as "Christian," this is demonstrably false.

Trump has done nothing like Hitler.

Trump makes me uncomfortable. One form of bigotry (let us say against Muslims) easily morphs into another (against Jews).

Many political leaders have or had something in common with Hitler, including his enemies and antitheses.  Sure, Hitler was a nationalist patriot -- but so was David Ben-Gurion. He had trouble with the legal system of his country, but so did Mohandas Gandhi, Vaclav Havel, and Nelson Mandela. He was a spell-binding orator, as was Dr. Martin Luther King. He loved classical music, but so did many of the July 20 plotters. He had affection for dogs, but so did FDR. Ne painted, but so did his arch-nemesis Sir Winston Churchill,  He supported good roads, but so did Dwight Eisenhower.  He led his country through as great crisis -- as did Abraham Lincoln and Benito Juarez. But here are people that we admire.   So some great political leader is a nationalist patriot, a spell-binding orator, someone hounded for his political actions, who has an affection for dogs, suggests  good roads, loves classical music, and leads a revolution. Evil? Not if he (assuming that this figure shares gender with Hitler) leads a benign revolution that brings liberty where it wasn't.

I have shown that Donald Trump has something in common with some vile dictators (including Hitler) and drug lords (bad taste!), but given a choice between good character and good taste, I will excuse bad taste. I find Donald Trump to be a lying, vindictive, bigoted demagogue who has sold the masses out to rapacious plutocrats and has acted as if people who do not share his beliefs have no relevance in American political life. This is dangerous!

... The Nazis were Christian, and Martin Luther's writings played a key role in terms of the emergence of the Nazi Party and the Holocaust. To ignore that entirely is to be foolish and to not understand history.

Hitler's antisemitism was first and foremost based on the Nazi theories on race, rather than religion. This is reflected in the fact that converting to Christianity did not save a person of Jewish background from being persecuted by the Nazis.

Except for the fact that Martin Luther's writings were used and quoted quite often in terms of the anti-semitism that was spread. While yes, it was based off race, it is arguably foolish to ignore the part that Martin Luther played in terms of the Holocaust because of his writings.

99% of countries in Africa are either communist-socialist or Muslim run.

Yes Andrew Jackson did cause the massive removal of natives and yes the WIGS were opposed.
Want to know something else is that when any party was removing natives I am opposed what the government did to the Dakota tribe is horrific.

Of course Andrew Jackson was a genocidal maniac; no-one is denying that. Some Whigs did indeed oppose Indian Removal under Jackson (at least as it pertained to the Five Civilized Tribes), only to complete an about-face six years later with the nomination of William Henry Harrison, one of the most famous 'Indian killers' of the decade, for the presidency in 1836.

And yes, I read your original comments, and there are as inaccurate as the pseudo-social analysis you have been peddling in this thread ever since.
