Arpaio just got done losing a race - as an incumbent, by a large margin, in a jurisdiction that comprises a majority of the state and in a climate less hostile than what 2018 is shaping up to be - and he thinks it's a good idea to run for Senate?

At the very least, I can only hope he'll make his supporters wear pink shirts when canvassing!

McSally announcement video.

"I told Washington Republicans to grow a pair of ovaries and get the job the done."

Interesting. She sounded different than I imagined for some reason.

McSally registered her Senate campaign site shortly after McCain disclosed his brain cancer. She's so blatantly opportunistic that I doubt she wins the primary.

McSally's running? Wow, what an unexpected turn of events.

Also, it's difficult to take her denouncement of "Washington Republicans" seriously after McConnell was crooning about how she was his best recruit.

Lol I love how only the Republicans think she is going to win. Sinema is clearly the favorite.

I think Republicans are more realistic about this race than Democrats.

GOP leaders can't possibly be happy with McSally right now. She's the only one who can keep that seat. She's giving it to the democrats so that she can run for a senate seat she's unlikely to win.

I think Republicans are more realistic about this race than Democrats.

Here are the facts: This is going to be a three way race and whoever gets out of it will probably garner around 35% of the vote, at this point. The primary is going to drain and bruise McSally while Sinema is going to cruise to the general with a massive war chest of volunteers and campaign funds. I will bet my house that Sinema out-raises McSally. Arizona is, yes, a lean R state but Sinema is leading the polls and in an environment that clearly favors the Democrats nationwide.

It took 3 months to make a bad announcement video? Also to the conservatives commenting about this race from thousands of miles away- mcsally won’t win her primary after Ward support consolidated around Arpaio. She’s also a nobody outside of Tucson.

I agree McSally's video was bad. Contrast that with Sinema's who knocked it out of the ball park.

She has baggage in her past and a history of being a radical. Also, let’s remember the last time a Democrat won an Arizona senate seat was 1998, and he was a longtime incumbent. Arizona isn’t a Blue State, despite the exuberance with which atlas proclaims it as such.

Some of you tried to be more "realistic" about Virginia and Alabama and look what happened...

So because a state hasn't gone Democratic in a long time, it's impossible that it'll happen this time? Come on now, do better.

Sinema was a radical 20 years ago. No one gives a shot about 20 years ago. Trump was a democratic Hillary supporter 8 years ago.

Rather than looking at your cute feelings, look at the cold hard statistical facts - Sinema is the most moderate member of a cery polarized house.

And Ronald Reagan was a New Deal Democrat.

McSally's only barely ahead in a primary against a convicted criminal.

Interesting announcement video style, but if McSally wants my endorsement, she's going to have to oppose the Trump position on a notable & controversial piece of legislation, which she has yet to do.

Vote for me because behind closed doors I'm as racist as Trump.

https://twitter.com/sppeoples/status/951860966358044672

Asked whether Trump's "sh**t hole" comments were racist, Arizona Rep. Martha McSally had this to say after she announced her Senate campaign in Tucson: "I speak a little salty behind closed doors at times as well, so I'm not going to throw the first stone on using any language."
