President Emmerich Wegscheider announces that he isn't running for re-election After 3 terms

Today, President Emmerich Wegscheider of the Liberal Freedom Party has announced that he won't run for a fourth 8 year term. The president, after careful consideration, has decided to leave politics and return to normal life after being president from 1992 After his Election. Many criticize for this decision on the heals of one of the Empire's most turbulent times since the second great war. In the last 3 midterm elections in 2010, 2012, and 2014, the president's party has lost its majority in the Reichstag and thus laws have been difficult to pass for him.

After this Announcement, the four parties that rival the Liberal Freedom Party have begun to search for their own Candidate to throw in this Election and thereby hopefully win the presidency. Of these parties, it seems that the Royal Populist Party is doing the best in all of the polling. Still nothing is assured yet and with the threat of a possible Mormon terrorist attack happening due to German intervention in Bolivia and Peru to remove the remnant pro-american Great Frost Regimes, anything can happen.
