2017? If it does, then it would have to happen tomorrow since that's the last day of 2017.

Bill Clinton would get blown the f**k back if he tried running in Arkansas today.

In what universe does Bill Clinton have any interest whatsoever in running for AR-SEN?

Best shot dems by far have is Mike Beebe. At the very least, he would put the AR GOP into a good sweat and divert additional resources. And in a potentially open seat, well folks, miracles exist.

Assuming this is for Cotton's seat if he is confirmed to direct the CIA.

Dems are unlikely to win this seat even in a wave, but Beebe fits the Bredesen model well. Greg Leding or Lioneld Jordan (who I believe is currently nonpartisan) would be a solid choice for the long-term goal of flipping Washington County, which contains Fayetteville and would continue the trend of educated suburban areas going for Dems.

French Hill probably runs as the "establishment" GOP pick.

Lol, in this environment and in an open seat special election, Washington County is Likely D anyways.

My son has spoken to Cotton recently.  Cotton told him he no intention of leaving the Senate seat for the CIA!

Assuming it doesn't happen, and if it did, it'd line up with the regular 2018 elections, so it'd be a crapshoot, but I'd love to see Eldridge in the Senate.

Out of curiosity, when do you think the last year Bill Clinton could have won an open AR Senate seat, had one been up that year?

He would have easily won in any cycle up to 2008. 2010 and 2012 would have been hard to forecast, and he'd very likely have lost from 2014 onwards.

Though, if Hillary Clinton hadn't run as an unabashed New York liberal in 2016, Bill might have been able to position himself as a Blue Dog more credibly.

Either 1998 (due to the Lewinsky scandal) or 2008. Definitely not in 2010-2014, and he'd probably be the Harold Ford Jr. of 2018 if he ran and lost in an AR special.

Probably 2012. He would've gotten BTFO in 2014.
