Carolla is basically a more mainstream friendly version of Ron Paul.
Then Christie definitely won't endorse Carolla. I don't really see Christie endorsing anyone realistically unless it was Fletcher (but then the primary would be a bit too lopsided)

Looks like the race is effectively Fletcher vs. Paul unless someone else joins

Quick, someone drop in as Ex-Governor Don Sundquist Mitch McConnel

Maybe Christie endorses Carolla and then this race will really get crazy

Interesting though that may be, I don't see it happening.

Hey if he can endorse Donald Trump he can endorse the Ace Man.

I'm sorry to hear that, Blair, and thank you for playing.

Now that we've lost both Spiral and Blair though we're in a bit of a problem, I might say. Since there's just six players left (Clinton, Biden, Clark, Carolla, Fletcher and Paul), I'd like to put the question to the surviving players: should the game continue?

I don't see why it shouldn't, even if we have to skip the convention rounds.... besides, Jaguar4life clearly isn't going anywhere as Carolla, and I don't see myself going anywhere for a while...unless I get blown out in South Carolina...

We carry on then, turn will still end tomorrow night. I'll discuss options with Blair as to how to justify Christie's departure without it being too implausible.

Should we allow one or two more Republican players to simulate the reaction to a lack of an establishment candidate? If not, we proceed as we currently are.

I would argue Fletcher basically becomes the establishment candidate...but we need another Republican as well.

Maybe a Rick Perry, Mitch Daniels or George Pataki entry...

Also, Romney could jump back in, with a different player (or the same player).

I would be willing to return as a "white knight" candidate.

Give it a few weeks and have Jones jump back in, honestly.

I would prefer a realistic election, thank you very much.

If I could, I would rejoin as Don Sundquist or Lamar Alexander but sadly, I don't think Lumine will let it happen.

Please let this game continue, but maybe a Romney re-entry or the white knight would be a realistic possibility... maybe a Christie scandal? I dunno, but a Romney, Perry, or Alexander entrance... it’s interesting. I’ve always wondered what would it be like if Thune jumped into the primary back in 2012.

How about this for a Christie scandal? Now you don’t have to go along this this but let’s say a audio clip is leaked of Christie badmouthing Walter Jones,Adam Carolla,Ron Paul and Ernie Fletcher.

The Christie issue has been addressed, this turn ends in three hours. The next one will begin Friday night, and I will be allowing two or three (at most) new Republican candidates as late entries to the primary. They'll have to be plausible candidates, so no celebrities or excessively obscure requests, please.

(of course, the remaining candidates will retain the initial advantage, the "white knight" dynamic is not meant to be unfair to them)

Sorry, Fiorina is just coming off from a tough defeat in the Senate election in California, wouldn't be plausible at this point.

The choices in Lamar Alexander, Mike Huckabee, Jim Douglas, Paul Ryan, George Pataki, Jeff Sessions, Rick Scott, Bill Haslam, or even Rick Santorum are plausible.

Certainly, Bachmann is approved then. You can post an announcement speech on the Campaign Thread, and you'll be included in polls (and as a formal part of the game) next turn.

I'd be willing to accept some of those, but I wouldn't call all of them plausible (particularly Sessions and Alexander).
