Jindal 2012: The change we need. The voice we deserve.

Chambliss Campaign Statement On Jindal's Entry:

Hello, My Name is Daryl Metcalfe, and I am the Press Secretary and Head Spokesman for the Chambliss Presidential campaign. And regarding the entry of Governor Jindal in the race, we just have one thing to say, lightweight. He embodies good conservative values, but beyond that, lacks any originality or tradition. I mean seriously, this guy was seen as so rigid that he even had to deliver his own baby and brag about just to show that he is not some meanie. Look at his debut for the presidential run, his facial expression looks like someone shoved a heroin balloon in a certain place. And I mean really, a teleprompter for your announcement speech, really, what a lightweight... he also left one the Louisiana Governorship as one of the least transparent offices in the country, he also supports stricter gun background checks and tougher ones too, not cool my dudes. And God knows whether his birth certificate is real, or if he was even born here, or if he is still one of them hindoos. He just seems too out of touch with our values and principles if you know what I mean. He has some good conservative stances, but I would tell Governor Jindal that it is not enough, and to head back to wherever he was before this announcement. Some people including his hindoo cronies might call him piyoosh, but here in the Chambliss Campaign, he is a pee yew. Thank you, and I hope to speak with y'all again soon.

TRUMP 2012 Make America Great Again!

Wow. Whoa. That is some group of people. Thousands.

So nice, thank you very much. That’s really nice. Thank you. It’s great to be at Trump Tower. It’s great to be in a wonderful city, New York. And it’s an honor to have everybody here. This is beyond anybody’s expectations. There’s been no crowd like this.

And, I can tell, some of the candidates, they went in. They didn’t know the air-conditioner didn’t work. They sweated like dogs.

They didn’t know the room was too big, because they didn’t have anybody there. How are they going to beat ISIS? I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don’t have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let’s say, China in a trade deal? They kill us. I beat China all the time. All the time.

When did we beat Japan at anything? They send their cars over by the millions, and what do we do? When was the last time you saw a Chevrolet in Tokyo? It doesn’t exist, folks. They beat us all the time.

When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But they’re killing us economically.

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems.

Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people.

It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably— probably— from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.

Islamic terrorism is eating up large portions of the Middle East. They’ve become rich. I’m in competition with them.

They just built a hotel in Syria. Can you believe this? They built a hotel. When I have to build a hotel, I pay interest. They don’t have to pay interest, because they took the oil that, when we left Iraq, I said we should’ve taken.

So now ISIS has the oil, and what they don’t have, Iran has. And in 19— and I will tell you this, and I said it very strongly, years ago, I said— and I love the military, and I want to have the strongest military that we’ve ever had, and we need it more now than ever. But I said, “Don’t hit Iraq,” because you’re going to totally destabilize the Middle East. Iran is going to take over the Middle East, Iran and somebody else will get the oil, and it turned out that Iran is now taking over Iraq. Think of it. Iran is taking over Iraq, and they’re taking it over big league.

We spent $2 trillion in Iraq, $2 trillion. We lost thousands of lives, thousands in Iraq. We have wounded soldiers, who I love, I love — they’re great — all over the place, thousands and thousands of wounded soldiers.

And we have nothing. We can’t even go there. We have nothing. And every time we give Iraq equipment, the first time a bullet goes off in the air, they leave it.

We need new leadership to make america great again!

Official Statement from the Jindal Campaign

These remarks from the Chambliss campaign are simply troubling. Not only did he use racist slurs, and suggest that Governor Jindal was not born in America, when in fact, he was born in Baton Rouge, but he also resorted to baseless and shallow attacks on the Governor's character. These remarks were far below the standard for the office of President of the United States. We, and America, will not stand for this unacceptable type of campaigning. For this reason, the Jindal campaign will remain vigilant in its commitment to communicate the issues to the American people, and to campaign solely on the issues that matter, and to not repeat the low standard set by the Chambliss campaign.

Statement from the Upton Campaign

Senator Chambliss, the arrogant fervor and disrespect you have used against a rising star in the Republican party, and someone I would like to call a friend Governor Bobby Jindal. Up here in Michigan we teach our children a form of respect, I don't think you ever learned down there in Georgia, up here we got better Football, better cars, and better Representatives. I plead with the people of not just Iowa and New Hampshire, but of all 50 states and the Republican Party, to not elect this racist to represent our way of life, as it will surely lead to loses in November.

What Carolla did part 3

In late July Carolla campagined on reforming Social Security and Medicare in Florida,Nevada and Iowa.

Carolla’s campaign campagined on protecting Social Security and Medicare on hopes of “fixing the problems of scammers and fraud”

Carolla ended July by going do to Florida in Orlando to rally on Wall Street Reform.

Carolla called out President Obama for flip flopping his position on Wall Street and that he is a total gift to the Wall Street bankers and companies.

Carolla also said as president that he would fight for regulations of Wall Street and that he willfully stop corporations getting government kickbacks.

Okay,  a few notes:

1.- I'm writing Turn One, it will be up today. Once I open the Gameplay thread, please refrain from posting there until I announce that the turn is ready.

2.- OOC commentary goes on this thread and only on this thread. I'll delete posts that are not IC in the Gameplay Thread to keep things in order and avoid confusion.

3.- I'll allow the use of RL speeches for the announcements such as the Trump speech because I hadn't noticed until now, but from here on no RL speeches are allowed, you'll have to write your own. Merely copying speeches from RL will have a penalty of its own.

4.- It may take until the night for the turn to be ready, I'll be including Nevada and South Carolina polling as well and that takes some extra time.

5.- Do try not to promote other games here, mostly because I don't want the threads going way too off topic.

Be prepared!

Sarah Palin 2012!
For Guns, Beer, Freedom, and Jesus

Sarah Palin gives her announcement speech in Anchorage, AK on July 4, 2011
"Hello Anchorage! I'm announcing that I'm running for president so we can finally put an end to Obama's socialism in order to bring back the God given freedom to all liberty loving Americans. July 4th is a very special day because on that day in 1776, we declared independence from King George's tyranny, and we fought hard to win that freedom which is now in jeopardy under Obama. We will have the opportunity to decide whether we want to continue under the path of darkness under Obama's rule, or we can take the path of light and righteousness, so we can once again make America the shining city on a hill once again by putting an end to radical Islam for good and become energy independent so that we will never have to be subservient to countries that hate American freedom loving values. We will cut taxes and regulations while removing the deficit in order to bring prosperity and stability to the people of our great nation. We will create so many new jobs for all people who need one because that's the key to unleashing that prosperity. I also want to give each and every American citizen a check each year from our abundant oil wealth, as you will see so much oil busting out of the ground that we will have trouble finding what else to do with it. And yes, drill baby drill! We will bring back Jesus into the hearts of our communities and government officials after four long years of persecution by the baby-murdering Obama administration. We will get rid of all restrictions on gun ownership because we the American people have a right to defend ourselves from government tyranny. We will end amnesty for illegal aliens who are coming in by the droves and sucking up American wealth. I will also give free beer tax credits to Americans, so that everyone can enjoy a nice cold one while we create jobs in our amazing American beer industry. We will never accept the tyranny of the elitist limo liberals who want to take away your Big Gulps, so I will full heartedly oppose any soda ban. Sarah takes a sip from a Big Gulp amid thunderous applause. This is my vision to make America great again and a better, more free and humane place for all of us to live in. I'm a different kind of maverick since I have never submitted to anyone but Jesus himself as I served as Governor of Alaska and as John McCain's running mate, and I have the proven record to fight for the people and for my principles rather than bow down to the elitist establishment. I'm going rouge for the good of everybody in this country, and I hope to win support from all of you and become your Republican nominee and the next President of the United States. Thank all of you very much, and God bless America."

During July-September, Palin makes many campaign stops in the key early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. She makes 40% of her visits in Iowa, 20% in New Hampshire, 20% in South Carolina, 10% in Florida, and 10% in Nevada. The Palin Campaign focuses heavily on grassroots organizing, media interviews, and some TV, radio, and internet advertising.

Romney 2012
Believe in America

Hart Plaza, Detroit
July 2nd, 2011

Thank you for coming. It’s great to be back home in Detroit.

You know, I had people telling me to host this event back in Massachusetts, or Utah, or even New Hampshire, but there’s no place I’d rather host this than the place where it all started, here in Detroit Michigan. I’m not gonna lie, things here have changed a lot since my childhood here about three centuries ago (laughs), but one thing hasn’t — the amount of unbelievable determination the folks of Detroit and the great state of Michigan have.

Over the last thirty years, I can't tell you how many times I've heard a situation is hopeless. But I've always enjoyed proving them wrong. It's one of the lessons I learned from my Dad.
My father never graduated from college. He apprenticed, as a lath and plaster carpenter, and he was darn good at it. He learned how to put a handful of nails in his mouth and spit them out, point forward. On their honeymoon, he and Mom drove across the country. Dad sold aluminum paint along the way, to pay for gas and hotels.

There were a lot reasons my father could have given up or set his sights lower. But Dad always believed in America; and in that America, a lath and plaster man could work his way up to running a little car company called American Motors, and end up Governor of this great state.

For my Dad, America was the land of opportunity, where the circumstances of birth are no barrier to achieving one's dreams. It simply breaks my heart that since my dad passed nearly twenty years ago, I feel less and less able to say that.

Just four years ago, our nation faced one of the greatest economic dilemmas we’ve witnessed in our history — places like Detroit were hit hard, and folks in Washington and across the country were quick to call the situation hopeless. But I think we have something in common in that we both like to prove them wrong. Back in 2008 Barack Obama promised us great hope, and we listened. But after America gave him our support, President Obama broke his promise.

When President Obama took office, the economy was in recession.
He made it worse. And he made it last longer.
Three years later, over 16 million Americans are out of work or have just quit looking. Millions more are underemployed.
Three years later, unemployment is still above 8%, a figure he said his stimulus would keep from happening.
Three years later, foreclosures are still at record levels.
Three years later the prices of homes continue to fall.
Three years later, our national debt has grown nearly as large as our entire economy.
Families are buried under higher prices for food and higher prices for gasoline.
It breaks my heart to see what's happening in this country.

It doesn’t have to be this way. President Obama’s new campaign for the Presidency is nothing more than an attempt to continue a status quo that simply has not worked for America. Turning around a crisis takes experienced leadership and bold action. For millions of Americans, including many in this great city, the economy is in crisis today, and unless we change course, it will be in crisis for all of us tomorrow.

Government under President Obama has grown to consume almost 40% of our economy. We are only inches away from ceasing to be a free market economy. I will cap federal spending at 20% or less of the GDP and finally, finally balance the budget.

I will insist that Washington learns to respect the Constitution, including the 10th Amendment. We will return responsibility and authority to the states for dozens of government programs - and that begins with a complete repeal of Obamacare.

From my first day in office my number one job will be to see that America once again is number one in job creation. You know, if you want to create jobs, it helps to have had a job. I will make business taxes competitive with other nations, modernize regulations and bureaucracy and finally promote America's trade interests. It's time for a president who cares more about America's workers than he does about America's union bosses.

The people of Michigan and the United States deserve an America that works for them, where opportunity is abundant, and where the government is responsible. To accomplish that America needs a leader with the experience and determination to get the job done.

Twenty-seven years ago, I left a steady job to join with some friends to start a business. Like many of you, it had been a dream of mine to try and build a business from the ground up. We started in a small office a couple of hours from here and over the years, we were able to grow from ten employees to hundreds.

My work led me to become deeply involved in helping other businesses, from innovative startups to large companies going through tough times. Sometimes I was successful and helped create jobs, other times I was not. I learned how America competes with companies in other countries, what works in the real world and what doesn't.
I left my business in 1999 to help put the Salt Lake City Olympics back on track. And when the Games were over, I came home to Massachusetts and served as governor.

I'd never held office before but I went at it like I ran businesses and the Olympics: ask tough questions and take on the toughest problems first.
When I took office, I faced a nearly $3 billion budget hole. My legislature was over 85% Democrat. The expectation was that we'd have to raise taxes but I refused. I ordered a review of all state spending, made tough choices and balanced the budget without raising taxes. That sent a message that business as usual was over.

At the end of four years, we consolidated agencies, cut programs, sold state property and cut taxes nineteen times. We balanced every budget, restored a $2 billion dollar rainy day fund and kept our schools first among all 50 states.
All of these experiences -- starting and running businesses for 25 years, turning around the Olympics, governing a state -- have helped shape who I am and how I lead. Of course, if I ran through a list of all my mistakes, Ann would find it hilarious, and we'd be here all night. But I've learned a lot.

I’d like to work for you, America.

I'm Mitt Romney, and I'm running for President of the United States.

ADAM CAROLLA RESPONDS TO ANNOUNCEMENTS OF SARAH PALIN AND MITT ROMNEY IN ORLANDO FLORIDA

So did anyone see that Sarah Palin announced her campaign for President?  *Crowd boos*

The women who cost her Presidental partner pretty much the election back in 2008 when she said the most ridiculous things ever for a politican!!

And apparently she has gotten more ridiculous!

Now as for Mitt Romney? Well he said the usually oh I will do this and that kind of speech a politician. Nothing to see here.

However those ideas are such a anarchoism. Choosing Sarah Palin or Mitt Romney would be a total mistake and will cause a repeat of 2008.

However if the Republicans especially you Florida! Then you will get something different a actual change for once.

*Crowd chants Carolla! Carolla! Carolla!*

Wesley Clark for President:
Let’s get America back on track

General Clark announcing his candidacy for President in Little Rock, Arkansas. (August 1st, 2011)

”...Hello, my fellow Americans, I’m here to make an announcement I’ve never thought I’ve made. First, I’m gonna tell y’all why I came to this conclusion. The current President of the United States has proved himself to be inexperienced, and too incompetent to lead. Whether it’s his failure to stand up for the common man, his failed foreign policy and already proving to be failed intervention in Libya. He’s failed to produce an economic recovery, he’s proving to be just as a horrifying spender of taxpayer dollars, a foreign policy moving in the direction of Bush-era interventions. He’s proving himself to be a liar. Hell, three serious contenders are challenging him. The Republicans aren’t much better either. Just look at the Presidency of George W. Bush. Look at the debt, the wars, the wiretapping. We don’t wanna go anywhere near a third term of that, not in my lifetime. I’ve got the experience it takes to defeat both of these great evils, while also reversing the course of our nation, for the good. I’ll watch how much we spend while trying to protect the common man. I’ll always support equal rights for everyone regardless of gender or sexuality or anything. I’ll also protect American jobs, check if universal healthcare can be accomplished here, solve the immigration problem, and I’ll bring back a safe and sensible foreign policy. I’ll end the wiretapping and the failed War on Drugs. But, aside from that... I’ve examined the Democratic Primary field. It’s just. Ugh. They’ve left the middle class, and the Republicans have always been like that. Being a Democrat isn’t the same like it was in the days of President Kennedy. It’s really sad. That being said, I am announcing my candidacy on an Independent ticket. I will be campaigning in several states soon and starting up my campaign functions. I would like to ask for all yalls thoughts and prayers in this endeavor. It’s not easy, but I ask this of you America... Are you seeing a recovery? Did you like the days of George W. Bush? The answer for most will be no. So I ask... What do you have to lose? Try something new. Thank you, God bless. Let’s get this country back on track!!!

You do need to ask for approval before formally taking a character, Haslam.

I'll allow it though, so you may post that speech on the Gameplay Thread. Will you be seeking the Americans-Elect nomination or be full independent?
