https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Two_BagsI'm about 1/2 through the B&N version with 284 fables, each one on average less than a page.
Most of them are rather pointless, and many of them are very grimm, but some of them, like "the two bags", are good reminders of how to behave and how to see the world.
For anyone who has given up on the religion of their childhood, it is still good to have a set of codes and ethics by which to live.
Many are simply about how bad people can be and about how life is hard, but some are reminders of how we get what we sow and perhaps even what we deserve.
I don't see them as just for children, although certainly any child can get their meanings.
