Feinstein                41
DeLeon                   27
Other/Undecided    32

Pretty middling numbers for an entrenched incumbent.

I like how DeLeon is up 37-15 with Republicans, while Feinstein dominates 58-22 with Democrats. DeLeon does best with conservatives, and Feistein does best with liberals.

Well, you can guess who dislikes Feinstein the most in the state. Think of it like Sanders winning Oklahoma or the Appalachia.

De Leon got his start in politics when he helped organized a large rally in opposition to Prop 187. It's extremely ironic that conservatives are the ones who have rallied to his side.

For another Democrat to defeat a Democratic incumbent, said Democrat would need to pick up a significant share of the right-leaning vote. That aside, it's not so much that conservatives support De Leon, they are just selecting the option that is not Feinstein.

Modoc and Lassen will be interesting to watch.

It will be interesting to see if progressives and/or non-establishment Democrats in statewide D vs. D contests make a real push to increase GOP turnout due to the effect that's already been mentioned. Obviously, that could have downballot repercussions (especially in House races).

I hope Two Democrats make the senate runoff, to help Democrats flip the 7 Clinton-Republican house seats down the ballot, however even though my own political views are way to her Left, I plan on voting for Dianne Feinstein in the general election because I know how much conservatives hate her because of her views on gun control and abortion rights.

Go De Leon. There's no place for an 85 year old in the Senate

Just going to point out here that according to 538's Trump Tracker of sorts, not only is Feinstein the most out-of-step Democratic Senator in terms of supporting Trump's positions relative to her state's partisan lean (+10.9; has voted with Trump 31% of the time compared to an expected 20% of the time), but she's the most out-of-step of any Senator in relation to their party (the next two closest are Schatz at +8.0 & Paul at -7.9).

Well, I'll have see if De Leon is worth voting for, or at least worth holding my nose to vote for to deny the wartime profiteer another 6 years.

It should also be noted that they might well switch back to Feinstein the minute De Leon is actually in striking range.

After all, those conservatives just lurved them some Obama...then he won Iowa and got ahead of Hillary. No shock that suddenly, Fox was tooting the horn for her in ways little different from all the goodwill McCain had on the left before he picked Palin.

Ultimately, that's probably what's going on here.

I like DeLeon and I hope he proves himself to be a formidable candidate.
But the ridiculous criticism of Feinstein from the usual Bernie bro suspects has reached the level of hysteria.

To be fair, Feinstein sucks. Her record on foreign policy and civil liberties issues like the PATRIOT Act has been terrible, and she's just flat-out been around too long.

Your great strategy of trying to shove a sh**t sandwich down our throats isn't working. Your sh**tty candidate Hillary lost last year.

That's exactly why I can see myself supporting DeLeon, if he proves to be a good candidate and not an overhyped one (like Bruce Braley or Martha Coakley).
But calling Feinstein a "conservative" Democrat, that just shows how politically illiterate are some people in this forum.

Even if Feinstein was the  most progressive senator in the whole country I'd want her gone. If she wins next year by the end of her term she'll be 91. That is completely ridiculous

Republicans will likely flock to Feinstein once they find out her opponent is a left wing Hispanic Democrat.
