I think it's interesting that he's the second in a line of three GOP Vice Presidential nominees who are heavily mocked by the Democratic Party. What makes it interesting is that these three mocked VP candidates occur once every 20 years: Spiro Agnew in 1968, Dan Quayle in 1988, and Sarah Palin in 2008.

OK, kind of dull, and had a problem with not keeping his mouth shut when he needed to, much like one of his successors (nameless here forevermore).

I fervently believe that HW should've chosen Kemp for his running mate in 1988.

And they were also all Republicans.  That's no coincidence, even if the dates are.
