Chafee wins at least 45 states and has a decent shot at winning all 50.

I'd view an election Clarke vs Chafee the same as the 1978 election in the sense that some heavily liberal counties/states would vote for a republican and some heavily conservative counties/states would vote democrat.

 

With that being said, I don't know who would win.
