The President sat down on his hotel bedroom, away from the television coverage. He face palmed lightly. He wanted to remember a time it was more simpler. A time before all of this. He remembered his '04 campaign. He remembered his strong Iowa and New Hampshire finishes. He remembered his populist movement. The President remembered zinging Bush in the debates. Now, it was all coming back to bite him in the ass. Howard wondered how all of this could happen. His presidency, to put it simply, was not meant to be.

Election Night 2004:

Fmr. Gov. Howard Dean/Sen. John Edwards: 284 Electoral Votes, 49.0%
Pres. George W. Bush/VP. Dick Cheney: 254 Electoral Votes, 47.7%

Howard could remember that on the television screen. He hadn't slept the whole night, he gave his victory speech, but couldn't sleep. He was too jittery. Howard let out a crazy "YEAH!" for his campaign staff after he went back out from his victory speech (He thanked his staff first). He heard a Green Day Performance after he left the stage. He'd shocked the world. President-elect Howard Dean, a sentence no one thought would ever be muttered.
