What would the map look like if Biden was 46 like he was in 1988 going against Trump in 2020?

this would be 1988, and Trump would win in a landslide.

I don't see a reason why. In 1988 people were tired of Republican rule, which is why Dukakis went into the fall with a massive lead. He lost it because of his positions on crime and other social issues. Biden isn't as liberal as Dukakis socially.

Trump was at the height of his popularity in 1988, Biden was dealing with his serial plagiarism and major health issues.

No, it would be 2020, the 1988 Joe Biden would be running against a 2020 Trump.

A 46 year old Biden?  I think he'd win against nearly anyone.

Would he even be relevant in the primaries without the legacy of Obama attached?

I'm sure he'd beat Trump because Trump is an awful person and he wouldn't have the stench of the Clarence Thomas hearings or the Crime Bill on him.

I thought Obama purposely chose Biden due to criticisms about his (Obama's) lack of experience. A 38 year old Biden doesn't fit the bill.

1988 Joe Biden does about as well in 2020 as 1988.

[/quote] no but Biden is was not a very good vice president. He slept during a speech Obama was giving. Biden also cussed on live TV when Obama was announcing Obamacare. Biden said "this is a big ing deal". Is that the kind of guy you want in rule.
