The 2020 Primaries are just as wacky, if not far wackier than the 2016 Primaries. President Trump resigns due to Obstruction of justice charges, and Pence pardons him, and thus decides to run in 2020. The President loses to former Governor John Kasich in the Primary despite taking it to a brokered convention. The 2020 Democratic nominee is Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who cruised to the 2020 nomination following a failed assassination attempt, losing only a few states to California Senator Kamala Harris. Decide the VPs, and the results.

I would normally say that Kasich would crush Sanders, but the fact that he's from the same party as a President who had to resign would probably hurt him significantly, even though he's been vocally speaking out against Trump. I'd say Sanders/Brown beats Kasich/Rubio narrowly.

294: John Kasich/Kelly Ayotte - 51.9%
244: Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren - 46.0%

Minnesota and Virginia are the closest states.

Best I can do for Kasich: a dignified loss. All too likely the flood gates open and Sanders wins lots of unlikely states.
