Only 40% of the country being sane isn't very comforting.

I'm sure plenty of liberals hate CNN. I know quite a few

If they hate it more than Fox, they're insane. Tongue

No surprise as Fox is the sole republican leaning network and all the others lean democrat, splitting up the responses from republicans.

Pretty much. CNN was basically running a month long attack ad on Hillary in September  last year. But no. They are not fake news. Everyday they run a cycle about Trump being a dangerous retard, they have a cycle to remind people why a plurality of people in Pennsylvania, Florida, Wiscosin, and Michigan voted for him....well beyond the Russia stuff which is part of the former.

To no surprise, network that is literally named 'Fake News' wins.

Highly misleading poll. They only allowed respondants to select one choice, which means Fox was basically guaranteed to win (not that it wouldn't have probably still won anyway). But asking a list of purportedly left-leaning networks and Fox is a pointless question. Also, I suspect most of the numbers would be a lot higher if people were allowed to select multiple networks.

Jfern is right (about both).

No, it is actually terrible. If you add up the non-FOX channels, that conservatives would say are "liberal", they are higher than FOX, which is just ridiculous. Also, that only 40% of americans think that Fox is fake news is laughable. Do the 60% also trust the National Enquirer and Alex Jones?

Wrong.

Fox News isn't just "Republican leaning."  It is Republican news.  They spread actual lies and propaganda for the president.  They defend him at every turn.  They refuse to report on anything that would show him in a negative light.  They are littered with opinion-based programs, keeping actual news reporting to a minimum.

CNN, on the other hand, is a "leaning network" and they do lean to the left.  But there is far more factual news reporting at CNN than at Fox.

MSNBC is to the Democrats what Fox News is to the Republicans.

Of the three, CNN is the most impartial.

CNN is leaning Democrat? LOL.
A Harvard study found their coverage of Trump was 93% negative. Totally impartial and nonpartisan. LOL

Nothing surprising with what you are posting.
Most of what is really happening with this chaotic, clownish president and his administration is "negative." What do you want to hear ? ..... fake Faux News or the truth ?

PS: Notice from the poll results in the OP, that only 2% deemed NBC as "fake" news.
But yet they got the same 93% in the chart you just posted.
Do you mind telling us what that could mean ?

It's all biased.  FOX News versus the Midget Alients from Mars.

FOX at least is honest about being biased.  Their "Fair and Balanced" is rather tongue in cheek, and people get that.  They are, of course, the REPUBLICAN News Network; they'll support a moderate Republican over a conservative Democrat if that choice came about.

FOX is NOT the "Conservative News Network".

The implication of this post is that it'd only be FAIR coverage if it was equally positive than negative.  Of course that's silly - firstly the coverage of most politicians generally skews towards being very negative (I do wonder what the numbers would be for Clinton in the last election) because generally there are always scandal about and people are shockingly always more interested to read about what people do wrong than what they do right.

To use a UK example for a moment because that's what I'm most familiar with (shockingly I have better things to do with my time than watch American twenty-four hour news channels): I can guarantee that the press coverage of Corbyn from June last year to the election was incredibly negative - as has the coverage of May since the moment that the exit poll had the Tories losing their majority.  Does that mean that the news coverage was inherently biased initially against Corbyn and then decided to jump teams at the last minute and just decide to screw over May?  Or maybe; just maybe; the fact that the coverage was so negative about both was because that at that time Corbyn wasn't seen as doing a very good job as Labour leader because, to be frank and as much as I ike the guy and the direction he's moved the Labour party in, he wasn't (divided party; perceived weak leadership, continual talks of another leadership coup, his percieved failings in last June hanging over his head) and that the same applies to Teresa May now (post-election arrogance; having to deal with an incredibly dodgy party to hold power; incompetence of handling the Brexit negotiations; weak and wobbly leadership with the country not really going in any real direction).  The BBC covering the government in a negative light at the moment doesn't mean that they are necessarily biased against the BBC: its just that the Tories have had a pretty grotty last six months and the media coverage reflects that.

American cable news is almost universally terrible - all of it is mindless crap that seeks to both reinforce existing prejudices and effectively tell people when they should flip flop.  But I don't think that the coverage of Trump is necessarily proof of that because he has had a pretty crap first year (the healthcare debacle; the Russia investigations hanging over head, continual government reshuffles, no real legislative accomplishments other than executive orders that can be overridden anyway, the tax reform mess, him deciding to anger foreign allies by doing incredibly odd things like retweeting a legit neo nazi party) and the fact that the news media as a whole - including Fox notably - have covered him broadly in a negative light is proof of that.  Unless of course you believe that somehow the entire news media only wants to cater to; lets be generous; 50% of the country and is happy to not bother with the remaining half - that's assuming of course that everyone wants to hear partisan news which most people don't.  I'd suggest that only chasing a small audience is bad for business...

No surprise as Fox is the sole republican leaning network and all the others lean democrat, splitting up the responses from republicans.

According to the poll, 22% of Republicans think Fox News is fake news. Only 53% of democrats think Fox News is fake news.

Democrats and republicans are actually pretty evenly split on ABC, NBC, etc. Obviously CNN, Fox News, and MSNB have fairly partisan respondents.
