If Childers is a Competent Bernie-Esque candidate:

Pres. Mitt Romney/VP Condoleezza Rice: 277 Electoral Votes, 50.2%
Gov. Travis Childers/Mayor Bill Thompson: 261 Electoral Votes, 46.7%

If Childers doesn't invoke the same 2016 type rebel spirit:

Pres. Mitt Romney/VP Condoleezza Rice: 322 Electoral Votes, 53.1%
Gov. Travis Childers/Mayor Bill Thompson: 216 Electoral Votes, 44.1%

352: Mitt Romney/Condi Rice - 46.0%
186: Travis Childers/Bill Thompson - 39.3%
David Cobb/Cam Gordon - 11.6%
Others - 3.1%

MS, AL, KY, GA, LA, and SC are the only states to trend Democratic by more than five points.

I find it hard to believe Romney would lose Mississippi, even if he were running against a statewide Democrat...Georgia, Florida and North Carolina are another story.
