After today, there is no reason for a woman in this country to think that her government has her best interest in mind.

Their lives revolve around replying to Trump's tweets, so either they're fake or they are both unhinged.

Some politicians are good and useful, but some politicians could fare better with their mouthes taped, hands roped, and shoelaces tied together.

I think you are taking it too seriously. Basically, most politicians should just shut up.

I mentioned that I think Kavanaugh is innocent, but I also have this:

Even if he is guilty, who he is as a person does not affect how good or bad of a justice he would be. So "he can't be on the Supreme Court because he's a rapist" isn't a valid argument.

People who believe that child rape justifies the death penalty are even worse people than the child rapist is.

That IS the dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum.

Many reasons:

A: It's more focused on eradicating male behavior and masculinity than preventing sexual harassment and assault. Even things as simple as calling a woman sexy, are looked as sexual harassment.

B: Because of above, it isn't actually doing anything against real sexual harassment, and victims cases are largely ignored by a bunch of rich Hollywood women that are more focused on being angry at not being treated like the royal princesses they are. Take this persons post as example:

The metoo movement is mostly about privileged, powerful, wealthy women getting in on the ‘I’m a victim too!  Me too!’ Bandwagon.

The ordinary women who are victims of rape are not “omg me too ##”... their stories are all uniquely terrifying, traumatic, and largely ignored.

It just goes to show that the metoo movement is disconnected from reality, and rather, centered in the twitter and facebook bubble.

I basically agree with all of this

The thing is, (A) is by definition sexual harassment if it is unwanted.

#MeToo has the complicated problem of going against the grain of American thought that has objectified women for generations. Our culture has led us to think about sexuality in a mindset of gratification, and then, later, turns around condemns acting upon it with other people. It's no wonder most Millennials are alone.

There's also a problem in which excessively vilifying a small wrong, like the interaction in (A) makes us unable to admit, discuss, and repent of it.

Yet, at the same time, I can't say I think the MeToo movement is necessarily a bad thing. Ultimately more damage is generally done by covering up wrongs than by revealing them.

People are not inherently "good" or "bad". Our actions define who we are. So being "good" or having a moral compass on the inside doesn't make someone a good person if they regularly act in selfish, cruel way.

The Democratic party must become staunchly pro-coal, firmly and openly denouncing anti-coal individuals as deplorable in the party platform and in TV Ads. Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, and Joe Biden must also make a joint address on National Television in which they profusely apologize for being anti-coal, beg for forgiveness, and then become unmistakably pro-coal.

It's harder to come out as a Republican in the Bay Area then it is to come out as LGBT.

I could hold Roy Moore under 70% in Catahoula Parish Louisiana. Also I would do better in Jackson County AL than Jones.
