Reminder that Rohrabacher was on Trumps shortlist for Secretary of State, if you are to believe Rohrabacher himself:

I was hoping Devin Nunes' name would be showing up as well.

Well, I think he's still holding out for a pardon, but based on that indictment, he'll just get state charges thrown at him for massive tax evasion.

And the pardon will be used as evidence of his guilt.

It seems that these five new charges are in DC, which are along with the 32 EDVA charges as well. Manafort is facing 37 charges. So far.

Mueller didn’t exactly earn a reputation for being soft

Mueller always reminds me of Robert Stack as Eliot Ness in the old Untouchables TV show.

Gusi also denies all the charges:

The next honest American President might extradite him to Ukraine.

I would guess that Ukrainian prisons are very bad.

Has anyone pointed out yet how insanely shady it is that a former lobbyist for Russian-backed dictators turned up out of nowhere in the summer of 2016 to run the Trump campaign for free?

Not sure we're to put this but Trump delibertly misquoted a Fox host in a tweet of his to attack Schiff https://mobile.twitter.com/brianstelter/status/967566191207370753

Trump never misquotes...he lies

And his defensive lies have all the sophistication of a grade-school student saying "I know you are, but what am I?"

That Trump and his campaign tried to conspire with Russia is a matter of public record - his own words and the currently public information on the Trump Tower meeting tell us that.  And he doubtless has some other shady Russian contacts through his financial dealings.

The idea that there was (and possibly still is) a deep and complex conspiracy between Trump and some official or unofficial Russian agents  is not something that I'd really considered likely. (As opposed to some opportunistic but likely illegal stupidity on the part of Trump and his campaign which I consider convincingly demonstrated already.) I've thought that he has primarily been worried about the investigation because of the likelihood that it will lead to other crimes he has committed. (Probably financial.)

But after the last few weeks, especially this latest Twitter rampage, I'm coming to think there really is something truly treasonous there. Trump is not a sophisticated or imaginative liar. His repertoire consists of "I know you are but what am I?", "What's that over there?", "You're stupid and you look funny!" and, the height of his cleverness, saying the exact opposite of what actually happened. Which is what's starting to make me think he really is, not just guilty of being stupid and opportunistic (i.e. himself), but of actually being a traitor. His denials are too forceful, too negatory, too dedicated to denying any shred of reality that in any way ties him to Russia.  If, as is typically the case with Trump, his statements are a one-eighty from reality, then he's owned by the Russians, with whom he actively colluded to steal the election, and he's still acting on behalf of Russian interests, as much as he is able. And it does make a sort of sense. If he really was or is engaged as a Russian agent, then the stakes he's facing from Mueller's investigation are not embarrassment, fines, or potentially losing the office. He's looking at execution or the rest of his life in Ultra-Max.
