1. Should there be a general speed limit on freeways?

2. Should the laws that make firing employees more difficult be loosened?

3. Should we stick to the previously agreed deal on phasing out nuclear power?

4. Should taxes on petrol be lowered?

5. Should it be possible for Turkey to become a full member of the EU?

6. Should sales taxes be increased?

7. Should there be a minimum wage?

8. Should top earners be made to pay more in income tax?

9. Should the deposit on soft drink cans be abolished?

I'm not that surprised actually...I seldom fit very well in any party system...I would probably vote CDU anyway, since I like Merkel. Wink

No, the CDU is the only party in favor of an increase in sales tax. Which is already far too high for my liking. (It's 7% on food and a couple of other items, 16% on everything else. They want to make it 7/18.)
Now I could get on a long rant how the worst thing the current government has done is lower taxes and how misleading that 8th question is, but I'll spare you that. Smiley

No, the CDU is the only party in favor of an increase in sales tax. Which is already far too high for my liking. (It's 7% on food and a couple of other items, 16% on everything else. They want to make it 7/18.)
What Lewis said. At least the only party before the election.
With the additional revenues the CDU wants to cut payroll taxes.(Precisely contributions to unemployment insurance from 6.5% of gross earnings to 4.5%.)
