I don't think anyone even particularly cares if Trump is devoted to socially conservative causes out of personal belief. All most care about is that Trump opposes "political correctness" and will assist their side on policy matters. Nobody save the most delusional ever truly believed he was some devout Christian or well versed in traditionally conservative moral issues.

The right doesn't need your concern trolling.  While Pence might not actually string up gays en masse, he has some terrifying views on homosexuality that actually scare people.

The current day Republican Party in a nutshell. This is why trying to critique Republicans from an ideological or logical perspective is a total waste of time. As long as Trump continues to "make liberals cry", 35-40% of the country will continue to steadfastly approve of him even if he accomplishes literally nothing of substance in 4/8 years.

Trump never cared about Social Issues. He'll sign any abortion restriction that passes congress for political reasons, but he won't care if nothing ever passes. Heck, I'm not even fully confident that Gorsuch would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade in a situation where he's the deciding vote.

Roberts would not be the fifth vote, but he might be the 6th vote.

I would be surprised if there's ever a full overturning. A narrowing, however, is possible.
