Which state has the most conservative Democratic Party and which has the most liberal Republican Party in your opinion? Of course they don’t have to be the same state.

My take is New York or Vermont for GOP and Alabama or Georgia for the Democrats, though I will admit that many Florida Dems are by no means leftist.

There seems to be a lot of interesting activity in Kansas as some moderate Republicans have defected from the GOP to join the state's Democratic Party, IIRC. So, my guess would be that Kansas has the most conservative Democratic Party. As for the most liberal GOP, that'd definitely be a tie between Massachusetts and Vermont. Social Conservatism is DOA in those states and their economic policies are relatively moderate (think RomneyCare).

I remember seeing a chart about the leanings of every party in every legislature. I can remember that the Hawaii GOP was the most liberal, but I can't remember exactly which legislature had the most conservative Democrats. I remember that West Virginia was near the top, but I don't know if it was the most conservative.

In the late '90s, I'd say Kentucky had one of the more conservative Democratic organizations - but not now. Recently I saw an article that said Kentucky Democrats are moving towards a Bernie Sanders-style party, which will help its prospects.

I have read that Rhode Island Democrats are some of the most right-wing.

MA Republicans may be the most liberal. Either them or Vermont. Most conservative democrats? maybe Louisiana or North Dakota?
