Inspired by this thread.

If you're on the left, what's the most annoying argument often made by the left? Same thing applies if you're on the right (most annoying right-wing argument)?

For me, its often arguments such as "if you don't support X, you're racist/sexist/bigoted/whatever". While obviously true in some situations, when X is something like "Hillary Clinton" or "affirmative action", it really does make me quite angry. It's not a common argument in my social circles, but I do run into it occasionally.

This was mentioned in the linked thread, but there's also the "it's [current year]!" statement, which is just intellectually lazy, in the sense that it doesn't prove anything.

Libertarians like to talk about a "Crusoe World" a lot, in other words, if you lived on a desert island, what you should do there is what you should do in the real world. People on the other side can just say "But we don't live on a desert island" *argument destroyed*.

Any nationalist argument, basically.  The people who think immigration is more important than abortion infuriate me.

Nationalist rhetoric on trade or immigration.
Hard-right views on LGBT (i.e. Roy Moore)
Cookie-cutter catch phrases that clowns like Tomi Lahren use.

"Third Way Democrats are just as guilty" when I say something bad about the GOP in a discussion with a fellow Democrat.

Limits on immigration? A border wall? Travel ban by country?

Honestly, I don't think those are motivated by racism too much, any more than democratic socialism in America is motivated by hatred of the rich. I think people conflate their support for policies with their attitude towards people, and that's where hate/bias/racism comes in.

This and the people who say that the only way the party can go foward is to continually track to the center. There shrinking in number thankfully since there heyday in the 90s and 00s. Also I can stand some democrats in regard to immigration and illegal immigration to be specific and also the ones who say that the white working is "racist and sexist" because of the past election and also those who say Hillary Clinton mainly lost due to sexism or something like that. And don't get me started on the Russia baloney.

This one goes out to all my fellow Berniecrats: any claim that the Democratic establishment is "just as bad" as the modern GOP. Yes, the Dem establishment is a corrupt, cheating bureaucracy that sucks like a Shopvac and only excels at losing elections, but the two aren't even remotely comparable from a moral standpoint.

I don't really know which ideology I should choose, so I'll go with non-intervention. There are so many who say, "if we aren't going to intervene why do I need to know what's going on?" These people are fools.

In order to have a coherent foreign policy based around diplomacy (and if you do believe in non-intervention, you must believe in diplomacy; turtling is not a viable global option in today's economy), you need to know regional histories, cultures, values, etc.

Gary Johnson best typified this lack of seriousness with Aleppo.
