Stabenow led in the August 2011 poll 47-38... so yeah, give this race some time to build. It might have legs, might not. But if Kid Rock is starting now where Hoekstra was then it can't be all that bad.

I think this seat is winnable under the right conditions, but Michigan Republicans continue to throw bad candidates at Democrat Senators. Pete Hoekstra and Terri Lynn Land, for example.

So under the right conditions, a young and moderate Republican with ties to the roots could possibly give Stabenow a good fight. I have literally no idea how Kid Rock will do, but it continues the good meme of Michigan Republicans.
